Rachel O'leary get Joey to come and build it for you ! You can give him orders while resting your knee and drinking something alcoholic I mean therapeutic 😜
It looks good Joey. Good example of a budget build.. been watching you for 3-4 years now and I enjoy how your on camera personality and sense of humor has come a long ways. Keep up the good work
I think not only did you show people an easy way to make an indoor pond but you also showed us most of whats needed for an indoor hot tub :-) Awesome Job!
Brother Joey, you are really talented. I wonder from where do you get all these ideas? From old days DIY tricks to the present pond ...exceptional talent!
Hi Joey. I recommend a Largemouth Bass or a Peacock Bass. ( If not both) Both fish are aggressive eaters but will not harm each other. And I recommend a Red Tail Catfish or a Hybrid Tiger Shovelnose Catfish.
put white tiles on the floor joey, i feel like that would really help with being able to film the new fish, also what about a permanent underwater webcam that people can watch that is linked to your facebook or something.
Build in LED strips behind the lips for the cover, instead of an overhead lamp. Also, it would be a nice touch, if you take a router to the outside edge.
Are you going to add some LED lights inside the pond.? Nothing too bright of course. But it might be a little hard to see anything in a deep pond with a black liner
Awesome work!!! I'm building a fish room in my basement, inspired by the DIY videos you've put out! This is a great idea since I'm limited to the size of tank I can put in the fish room without tearing out door jams and wall to get it where I need it. I will be definitely doing a build like this for the Giants I would like to get. Keep up the great videos and inspiring hobbyists, like myself, across Canada and the rest of the world!!
Freshwater archer fish would be interesting! You could lay a large branch over the pond and occasionally dump crickets on it and watch the archer fish go to work.
Love the pond build so far and I’m glad to see that your healing up! Can’t wait for the paint and fish 🐠🐠. Would be a great idea for any of us Canadians that have outdoor ponds. Cheaper way to keep your fish inside for the winter.
I would love to see some koi in this pond!! That would be so pretty c: I live in Canada too so I think this would basically be the only way i could ever keep koi lol
Hey Joey, your gallery is amazing. However I fear it will never be complete without a brackish tank. One of the 120s should do the trick. You could stock monos or puffers, mollies, please give it more thought as I and many others would find great joy in seeing this and experiencing it with you
It's most likely sterile talcum powder (magnesium silicate), which is the main ingredient in baby powder. It's non-dilutable and can be rinsed off very easily. In those low concentrations it isn't toxic, but never the less it's a good idea to give it a good rinsing before usage.
Great job, might not be everyone’s cup of tea but you show what is possible on a budget. I think the end product with a bit of stain on the wood and plants growing will look fantastic.
I think you should out a red tail catfish in the pond, please!!! They are so cool and I would love to see how you would raise it and that process! Also, I've been thinking about how you taught your lionfish to eat fresh foods and not live. I would love to see you do the same process with a mandarin goby dragonette. They are smaller but they are such a beautiful fish that many hobbyists want to keep but are just too afraid to. You teaching them to eat your homemade food or even flakes would be a really impressive journey!!! You're Awesome Joey! Hope you feel better man!
*IMPORTANT!!!* Whatever you do Joey do NOT put pacus or other giant herbivore tetra in your pond!!!! From previous experience they will chew that pond liner and cause leaks! Big soft mouth fish would work wonderfully - eg Gourami, barbs, bass, catfish but be very wary of any fish with hard dentine teeth ESPECIALLY HERBIVORES . Good luck with your fish stocking :)
Looks awesome! Not sure if you have finished the outside of it yet, but I would think putting a torch to it and some Murphy’s oil after would give a nice look.
Do some sort of eco system in there and pull ideas from all the tanks on the wall and show a complete example of different fish or turtles co existing. A nice deep school of something would be beautiful from top too. Thanks for sharing all these inspirational ideas. Blessing for a lot of people.
Love the wooden box of water.... I was gonna go with I pool in my basement but now I will most likely be doing this. (For my silver arowana) I love your channel I still use the canister filter out of pvc you made all those years ago...lol
Just shipping powder they use to keep rubber from sticking to itself during shipping or high heat situations. And makes unfolding it much easier as rubber loves to grab against itself unless treated. I doubt its poisonous as its meant to be in contact with human skin and respiratorty and eyes. And if it was a problem they would post all kinds of warnings. However since its the liner for a fish pond its always best to rinse the liner off no matter what it was shipped with just to be safe.
It's looking great Joey, I can't wait to get my pond done this summer. I already have it all laid out, just need to get the liner in and setup the pump/filtration.
Joey get some koi. I made a similar outdoor pond last year for my Koi, love it. I'm copying your design to make another one inside to house my koi during winters. Awesome job bro!!
Joey I really would love to see a wolf cichlid in their. That is enough space, and they are amazingly interactive and fun to watch. Anyways love the videos.
Okay, some ideas: Do submerged lighting and black sand or gravel, with some large rocks. Have a gentle flow in the tank so the fish can be viewed easily. Some lighter colored artificial plants would be a lovely contrast, along with the fish. Then for fish, oxydoras, giant gourami, red tail cat. Some big, snazzy fish.
Love where this is going....one thing I would do is router or sand the one corner exposed round a little bit. That way if any one bumps In to it no one will get hurt. Keep up the great work i love your videos and every thing you do!!
Glad your shoulder is feeling better. I messed up mine overdoing archery practice last year. Anywho, loving this build. Thinking once you get this series out on here. Going to possibly start one as well. Father in law wants us to grow out some catfish for fish fries. Lol
Nice quick build Joey. Glad your shoulder is better. That rotator cuff ain't no joke. I'm recovering from surgery on mine right now. Worst pain ever. Good luck with the pond, I mean square wooden box.

The king of DIY put 4 lights over the pond so we'll be able to see the fish
The king of DIY why did you not use pond armor ?
The king of DIY It's gonna look beautiful. Wow .
Underwater lighting would look great in the pond, and maybe a small waterfall feeding into it from the corner👍🏻
The king of DIY what if you add led lights inside because it being so dark
That stuff on the liner is called “Plak”
Not toxic at all, excited to see the fish in there soon🤘🏽
Paul Cuffaro whats up
Paul Cuffaro I love your mini pond
I am tempted to do something similar for the big boys. Excellent inspiration buddy!
The gar and bichirs would fancy that. Also would give the bolbitis room to grow even bigger.
;)
Rachel O'leary get Joey to come and build it for you ! You can give him orders while resting your knee and drinking something alcoholic I mean therapeutic 😜
What about adding some under water lights so we can see the fish from the aerial view?
Now that was an awesome build!!
Great for a koi quarantine. I can see you dismantling it in less than a year
It looks good Joey. Good example of a budget build.. been watching you for 3-4 years now and I enjoy how your on camera personality and sense of humor has come a long ways. Keep up the good work
I am happy to see your Chanel growing. I dont own fish, but love to see your enjoy your hobby.
I love it and thanx for standing in for Rachel Joey, that was awesome of you.
The way he gets excited about fish. His hobbies about fish is so pure i love it
I think not only did you show people an easy way to make an indoor pond but you also showed us most of whats needed for an indoor hot tub :-)
Awesome Job!
i think it would be really nice if you put like three thousand neon tetras in it.
I absolutely love this video and this pond. People, this is like vintage Joey King affordable DIY at it's finest.
That liner isn't toxic. After you filter it for a couple weeks, like I did outside, you can add fish. I added Koi to mine. Great job Joey!
you should put in an underwater camera and stream it to a big TV on the back wall.
Looking good, I can't wait to see it all finished
Some tiles on top of the 2 x 10's would look awesome...
Great to see that you are better now!
Thanks to you I got a Tank (arrived today), great to get / be back in the hobby !!
Put lights IN the tank, not just over it. It'd be a great way to see the fish.
mikemorrison281 he could line the bottom with a led strip or something
Glad to see you up and about joey, looking forward to finishing the build.
Build in LED strips behind the lips for the cover, instead of an overhead lamp.
Also, it would be a nice touch, if you take a router to the outside edge.
It's looking really good, Joey. Can't wait to see the fish you'll be adding when all is said and done. Good luck.
Are you going to add some LED lights inside the pond.? Nothing too bright of course. But it might be a little hard to see anything in a deep pond with a black liner

The powder is usually "French Chalk" (Talcum powder). Non toxic.
You are a pretty good carpenter. Looks good!
Get under water lights for your pond
I think the design you have used for the pond is inspired. What a great way to build a really large holding tank etc. Excellent job.
Ever thought of putting underwater lighting to be able to see the fish better?
SLJH1794 great idea 👍🏼
I was wondering how the hell are we going to see anything.
Looking really good Joey!!! Hell, I think it has to be the easiest and least expensive way I've ever seen a pond done. Congrats!!!
Joey as the inside of the tank is dark black in colour u should go for Koi carps, they are bright coloured fishes, looks awesome from above view.
Simple. And very nice! Can’t wait to see the final outcome
I need to save up so i can build one of these, looks like fun.
It looks amazing! Great job Joey! I vote for staining instead of painting. 😁 It would be much more fitting for a gallery.
Freshwater archer fish would be interesting! You could lay a large branch over the pond and occasionally dump crickets on it and watch the archer fish go to work.
and see them none of the other times
Can’t wait to finish my outside pond, thanks for all the info!
Love the pond build so far and I’m glad to see that your healing up! Can’t wait for the paint and fish 🐠🐠. Would be a great idea for any of us Canadians that have outdoor ponds. Cheaper way to keep your fish inside for the winter.
Some L.E.D light on the inside lip of the wood would make it looks really cool.
Very cool! If I had an off site building - I might consider it. Thanks again your vlogs are always the BEST.
You should put some underwater led light thingies on it so you can see the fish better. I feel like it will be kinda hard to see the fish with out it.
Katy Brennan with sand or some sort of gravel on the bottom it'll make it so you have a non flat non black background to see the fish on.
I would love to see some koi in this pond!! That would be so pretty c: I live in Canada too so I think this would basically be the only way i could ever keep koi lol
Put some strip lights under the lip to light the water
I'm also glad to see you're recovering from you incident. I love the build and look forward to the updates.
I feel like faux brick or logs around the plywood would make this pond look so pretty, almost like a giant well
The pond looks great! Excited to see how the filtration and flow are hooked up to it. Also, of course can't wait to see the fish added.
Hey Joey, your gallery is amazing. However I fear it will never be complete without a brackish tank. One of the 120s should do the trick. You could stock monos or puffers, mollies, please give it more thought as I and many others would find great joy in seeing this and experiencing it with you
It's looking good so far! Can't wait to see the stocking!
Lets be real, by the time that wood starts to rot you'll already have built a new tank for whatever's in there and you'll be taking it apart anyway. 👍
Joe i suggest you to put some underwater lights in it!
It's most likely sterile talcum powder (magnesium silicate), which is the main ingredient in baby powder. It's non-dilutable and can be rinsed off very easily. In those low concentrations it isn't toxic, but never the less it's a good idea to give it a good rinsing before usage.

You should put redtails in the pond! They are so beautiful!
I think you should out a red tail catfish in the pond, please!!! They are so cool and I would love to see how you would raise it and that process!

You teaching them to eat your homemade food or even flakes would be a really impressive journey!!! You're Awesome Joey! Hope you feel better man!
You should paint your logo on it!!
Looking Good!!! Glad 2 see u moving around again
Fresh water puffers would be awesome in the pond!
Just realized that puffers eat live and you don’t feed live, so scratch the puffer idea.
It's almost done! Looking good. I can't wait to see the big guys in there.
*IMPORTANT!!!*
Whatever you do Joey do NOT put pacus or other giant herbivore tetra in your pond!!!!
From previous experience they will chew that pond liner and cause leaks!
Big soft mouth fish would work wonderfully - eg
Gourami, barbs, bass, catfish but be very wary of any fish with hard dentine teeth ESPECIALLY HERBIVORES .
Good luck with your fish stocking :)
The pond is looking great. Way to go sir. Way to go.
great build 😊 some LED strip lights on the underside of the 2x10s around the top wouldn't cost much and look good I think
excited for what fish you will be putting Joey. Thumbs up for a great work!
Should install some sort of pulley system so you could lift and lower the lid easily and it won't have to sit on the floor
looking good, and I glad to see that you are feeling better. lobsters or some kind of crustacean that has alot of color.
Stock it with fish that are commonly sold in pet stores that get massive to raise awareness in the hobby. I.e. red tail catfish
I always love your building videos, the pond looks great! I might make one of those someday
A few bar stools and a keg tap and you have a wonderful setup there
Thanks Joey! I’ll be building one for koi 👍
How about an underwater light, so we (and you) can see the fish better?
Lars Cywinski good idea
Looks awesome!
Not sure if you have finished the outside of it yet, but I would think putting a torch to it and some Murphy’s oil after would give a nice look.
Jerry Gonzales I thought the same thing deadass
hey joey in the back corner of the pond you should make an inverted aquarium bout 100 gallon one so the fish can swim up above the water level
that's a great idea CXRSIV3
No he cannot because he has to cover the surface due to condense
thats okay make the cover go around the tank part.
Is there anything you can't do :) of course, amazed and proud. good job! Now its time for a nice man made water fall
Great idea, I'm building one to store my koi in the winter.
chris k I’m just wondering do u live somewhere where it snows in the winter? And your koi go out into a pond in the summer?
Do some sort of eco system in there and pull ideas from all the tanks on the wall and show a complete example of different fish or turtles co existing. A nice deep school of something would be beautiful from top too. Thanks for sharing all these inspirational ideas. Blessing for a lot of people.
Put A guppy pair there joey😆
Love the wooden box of water.... I was gonna go with I pool in my basement but now I will most likely be doing this. (For my silver arowana) I love your channel I still use the canister filter out of pvc you made all those years ago...lol

I love watching your videos Joey and I love your fish gallery it’s awesome and amazing 😉 and keep it up I love learning about all of the fish you have
If it's a pond you gotta do a waterfall. King of DIY
It's looking great Joey, I can't wait to get my pond done this summer. I already have it all laid out, just need to get the liner in and setup the pump/filtration.
Light colored ceramic tiles on the bottom and some underwater lights would help fish visability whatever you add in? ... 😉👍
Joey get some koi. I made a similar outdoor pond last year for my Koi, love it. I'm copying your design to make another one inside to house my koi during winters. Awesome job bro!!
Looks awesome joey!!!!
Joey I really would love to see a wolf cichlid in their. That is enough space, and they are amazingly interactive and fun to watch. Anyways love the videos.
I think the plywood would look good if you applied cement and make artificial stone wall
Yay! I’m so excited to see the big fish going in there!! 💕💕
Ditch the pond. That's the perfect size for a nice hot tub lol!
I'd wager that the powder on the liner is probably just cornstarch. Its a cheap non-toxic solution they use for all sorts of rubber like latex gloves.
Love where this is going....one thing I would do is router or sand the one corner exposed round a little bit. That way if any one bumps In to it no one will get hurt. Keep up the great work i love your videos and every thing you do!!
jr ryder
Bullnose that puppy!
definatly trying this, ill tag you in it when its done!
Please make the next pond update your thoughts on stocking :) can’t wait to hear it
Joey! Please put mirror around the pond, so we can see 2.000g and other Aquariums at the same time😎
Looks great buddy! I can't wait to see the finished product!
What lighting are u doing maybe some submerged lights
Aquatic Buzz everyone like this
Great idea👍🏼
Glad your shoulder is feeling better. I messed up mine overdoing archery practice last year. Anywho, loving this build. Thinking once you get this series out on here. Going to possibly start one as well. Father in law wants us to grow out some catfish for fish fries. Lol
Can you start a live stream of one of your aquariums. I would love to have that running on my TV during the evening since I cant have a aquarium.
Nice quick build Joey. Glad your shoulder is better. That rotator cuff ain't no joke. I'm recovering from surgery on mine right now. Worst pain ever. Good luck with the pond, I mean square wooden box.
