Ihhosanna sezagqoka oTommy hk hk hk. My great maternal grand father (a Hossana) used to walk from koGodlwayo esiya ENjelelele barefooted, ukuyacela izulu. Lalisina izulu on their way back. Thanks anywhere for uploading this good cultural activity.
This video is a blessing in many ways kumina. I dreamt someone wearing like this with white top, dancing like this and drum had a rhythm similar to this, lapho I was given a black mpulampula by a ancient gogo with grey hair standing behind waterfall curtain.. and many others things....
Hosana is a Kalanga dance for rain mainly in a spiritual shrine called Njelele in Matobo District Matabeleland South Zimbabwe, also practiced in Botwana.
Spirit Mediums of maHosana dress in black. They are of Kalanga background. Kalangas were part of the Rozvi empire. MaHosana are found in Matabeleland Zimbabwe and Botswana. They regard Njelele in Matobo Zimbabwe as a spiritual place and Njelele is the place where rain ceremonies were performed asking God for a good rainy season.
FYI This dance is performed by the Bakalanga people when asking for rain from the Bakalanga deity (Mwali). It can also be performed to request ancestors to stop the floods as well as thanking ancestors for a good harvest. A similar dance is performed in Zimbabwe along Plumtree areas and Tsholotsho.
Ingungu lezi azifundiswe abantwana. Yizo ezakithi ama Hosanna

Which God is this exactly ? Nomkhubulwane or Mvelinqanga as it's presumed
?* ( forgot this)
The black colour represents the cumulonimbus clouds. The heavy dark clouds that will bring forth rain..A Hosana is a rain maker...
