Also, the small o-rings in your check valve repair kit goes on the check valve stem. The c-clips are removed at the stem and check seat face, then the check disk retention plate will slide off the stem exposing the replaceable o-rings on each check assembly. Good work brother!
@@dave_adamson So a year goes by and I went to test again. The RV's just barely passed last time. This time both SO's did not close. There calling in someone to fix those. ( I test and repair devices, not SO's) The said they had lots of water hammer in the brewery. My dilemma, I can do the rubber kit, however, what are the odds one of the stems or springs are broken? It would be 5-10 days for those parts and not returnable. Pricy stuff to stock if not needed. No water, no beer.... Your thoughts??
@@bruceajohnson9069 that's a tough call. I feel the spring and stems are pretty tough so probably ok. Is it dumping now? It's not right but I've pulled the relief spring to get the building water while parts arrived
Do you have any videos or info on how to remove the check valve seat? The (2) retaining clips that hold the seat in don’t seem to move, any info is helpful, thanks for the video.
I don't unfortunately. From a couple of guys I've talked to they have had issues with causing the coating or paint popping and causing issues so ended up replacing the whole unit as it wouldn't seal anymore
@@dave_adamson thank for the reply, I ended up getting them out with a pair of needle nose pliers. I also saw paint chipping under the check valve seat once it was removed, must be a defect!
@@dave_adamson do large building normally have backflow preventers on the main line? also what if any test cock(s) are leaking, what is usually the fix for that?
They typically aren't the issue and sometimes they are a real pain to get the check out and also have had the paint peel causing more issues than what it's worth

Solid video man had one today gave me a hard time wish I saw this before hand lol
Thank you! That will happen sometimes, but that's sometimes the best way to learn
Fantastic. I'm testing one tomorrow, new install. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the video.
Good luck!

Same thing here
Great video
Thank you!
You should get some Molykote grease for o rings. It’s not slippery like the packets of lube.
I will have to look into that

@@user-zj1fi4rt6e in my area yeah pretty much all of them do have a preventer. Leaking test cocks I just replace them. Typically just threaded on
I'm curious about pricing this job
I bid something like this for 4 hours labor plus material. Never know what you might run into so give plenty of time
Why didn’t you replace the O ring on the seat for the check valves
