One thing that nobody seems to be talking about in the "lack of fit" is that yes Fox and DeRozan are both heavier mid-range, but Fox is left handed to Demar's right. They operate mid-range and favor driving but to opposite sides a lot, so opponents cant really just clog up the mid-range since they will be on opposite sides of the basket constantly. Imagine clogging up the left middle to stop Fox and Sabonis sets an offball screen for Demar to drive/get free. Or even Sabonis helps Monk or Keegan get free on the Perimeter while Demar just keeps the defense honest on his side without even touching the ball

@@_kengi Finding the right rotations? @@TheStarsShineForYou Keon rightfully earned the starting spot, but you don't just give up on a potential sniper in Huerter. Before we found out Duarte fell off a cliff, he was deserving of a chance. I'm not saying I agree with Coach Brown not playing Keon sooner. In fact I was pro Lyles starting over Barnes and wanted Kessler Edwards to get some minutes instead of wasting 20 games on Juan Toscano Anderson. I'm not defending Coach Brown as I had issues with his rotations as well.
@@_kengi Brown treats Huerter very unfairly imo and starting Duarte broke his confidence. Yes, the Lyles over HB move is the other way we could have gotten at least a few more wins, imo (besides capitalizing on Keon). Playing HB an average of 3 more minutes than Monk, and failing to take advantage of Keon cost the playoffs, the way I see it. It's not Huerter Keon should have taken minutes from, but Davion Mitchell. Mike Brown's reasoning for DNP'ing Keon so much was because Mitchell had "seniority". But if you want to win, you need to give those minutes to Keon instead of not playing him at all.
@@TheStarsShineForYou Earlier in the season, for sure take minutes away from Davion. Post All-Star break, Davion deserved his minutes. If I was Coach Brown, post All-Star break, the main four guards are Fox, Monk, Keon, and Davion. Sucks that Huerter was and still is the odd man out, but I have hope he can still contribute big time. Teams respect his shot even in cold stretches and though his on-ball defense is bad, his team defense is actually good.
Chicago Native and Life long Bulls Fan, good analysis, take care of DeMar. He is one of the League's Treasures. Our system was not built for DeMar at all, he was originally the Third Option behind Zach and our Off Ball Cutters. When Zo was healthy years ago. Our poor record does not reflect 'player skill' for anyone on the Bulls. We are in Rebuild Limbo. DeMar is a Much better fit in Sac. Sabonis is actually a sneaky mean pairing with DeMar. I'm a little jealous. That Hi-Lo Post.
The weaknesses that the Kings had at the end of the season were largely a result of Huerter and Monk's injuries, as you stated. But once they get both of them back, those "weaknesses" will disappear. Additionally, maybe I missed something, but I don't see any real reason why the Kings would start Keon next season over Huerter. I think Keon is good, but I feel like relative to Huerter, a disproportionate amount of his value came from his overall energy/tenacity, something that waxes and wanes more often than solid offensive skill sets, the likes of which Huerter already has. Anyways. I just disagreed with that one point, but other than that, I think DeRozan will indeed be a nice addition to this squad. Having said that, I think a top 5 offense will still be really hard to attain for this team.
If they can take a few notes out of the Boston Celtics page book with the new look of Derozan the Sacramento Kings will be a problem more defensive attacking since the Kings have a bunch of Healthy Shooters
I see Devin Carter as a perfect fit for these guys as well, another point of attack guy who can light it up from 3, pretty versatile as a defender as well, the Kings are not a team that any West guard wants to see
I just hope DeMar gets a ring before he retires.. he has been one of the most deserved players for a long time.. but unfortunately a lot of those types of players never win a chip.. I wish him the best in Sac.
Pretty sure that's the biggest player they've ever gotten to sign. I honestly can't remember a decent player that chose Sac since Vlade... and guys in their twilight like Vince or Rudy. To get a player of this caliber is very rare to me as a King's fan.
This Kings team I think could definitely make some noise in the west but idk if they will be able to handle contenders like the Mavericks or the Thunder
I see the vision but just not going to bet hard on them, even as a kings fan. I’m hoping demar’s fit works and their defense stays decent while their offense improves. I’m worried that he won’t work as well alongside fox, since he isn’t a great 3 shooter, but I’m confident him and sabonis will be great on offense.
Love your take man. You actually looked at the whole picture, we lost Barnes, also a very lackluster defender. Our defense didn't get worse with this move, if anything it stayed about the same.
Great takes, looking forward to this kings season. Easily the best roster in 20 years.
Always loved demar but you could especially tell how lately hes been giving off about to blow up vibes just watch its his time
Very fun team to watch, high energy and a lot action
THANK YOU! I've been saying the same thing. Very well put also.
Good breakdown
11:00 this is perfect! Draymond got cooked 3 times!
i like this alot. If im a Kings fan, i would be happy. Will be fun to watch to see how they work
Ill miss demar
Chicago Native and Life long Bulls Fan, good analysis, take care of DeMar. He is one of the League's Treasures. Our system was not built for DeMar at all, he was originally the Third Option behind Zach and our Off Ball Cutters. When Zo was healthy years ago. Our poor record does not reflect 'player skill' for anyone on the Bulls. We are in Rebuild Limbo. DeMar is a Much better fit in Sac. Sabonis is actually a sneaky mean pairing with DeMar. I'm a little jealous. That Hi-Lo Post.
As a bulls fan, I hate seeing Demar and Caruso go but it is what it is🫠
Instant sub, great vid
If they can take a few notes out of the Boston Celtics page book with the new look of Derozan the Sacramento Kings will be a problem more defensive attacking since the Kings have a bunch of Healthy Shooters
this is a great pickup for sac
Kings Vs. OKC conf finals?
I see Devin Carter as a perfect fit for these guys as well, another point of attack guy who can light it up from 3, pretty versatile as a defender as well, the Kings are not a team that any West guard wants to see
This trade and Portland's Deni Avilja trades were steals. 🎉🎉
Finally! An opinion from someone who actually watches our games
I just hope DeMar gets a ring before he retires.. he has been one of the most deserved players for a long time.. but unfortunately a lot of those types of players never win a chip.. I wish him the best in Sac.
Imagine our GM pulls off a Lauri trade. Imagine our starting five - Fox, Keegan, DeRozan, Lauri, and Sabonis...
That would be crazy… better than the Webber bibby kings teams
Terrible defense from 3-5 but solid offense
This was sick
I can’t believe we have Deebo on the team! If Malik is in the starting 5 that’s a lineup that would be tough to beat. Welcome to Sacramento DeMar👑👑👑
Awesome video
I see the vision but just not going to bet hard on them, even as a kings fan. I’m hoping demar’s fit works and their defense stays decent while their offense improves. I’m worried that he won’t work as well alongside fox, since he isn’t a great 3 shooter, but I’m confident him and sabonis will be great on offense.
Probably the best team on paper since the 02 squad! Hopefully this time they can punch the ticket if they make it that far again 🙏
thank you great video
Love your take man. You actually looked at the whole picture, we lost Barnes, also a very lackluster defender. Our defense didn't get worse with this move, if anything it stayed about the same. However, the points you brought up about Ellis and Fox's defense are very valid. This move cost them so little they still have the assets to grab some size to add to the roster, especially some defensive minded wing would be huge.
Did I fall asleep to this video? Yes. Did I go back and watch it again? Yes. :P
