    You should certainly be refunded or given a free business class voucher for future use. You did the right thing and now American Airlines need to do the same. 🎉 xx

    You saved American a bazillion bucks, I mean THOUSANDS of dollars, by not having them divert. The cost of the fuel alone is MANY thousands of dollars. Not to mention if they had to put people up overnight or if the crew a had timed out on their duty day. They should give you way more than just 2 business class tickets.
    Will they ? I can only hope they do the right thing.
    As a physician (and pilot), I want to congratulate you on your ethics and compassion. I am proud to call you a colleague. You did the right thing. Not everyone does.

    Should be refunded and given two tix business class on the house for another trip.

    You should a minimum be refunded for the segment you gave up on the flight. But the truth is they should refund you the entire trip as a courtesy for your kindness to a person in need. My reasoning is as follows, had they diverted to Nova Scotia it would have cost them way more than the price of 2 business class seats to do so plus the aggravation of delaying your arrival into Italy as well as the delay of the return flight. That would have most likely necessitated a different aircraft for a flight your plane was to take after arriving back in the US. So, in teh grand scheme of things them refunding you the price of your business class tickets is but a drop of the ocean. I would place a phone call to them and push this issue further.

    The airline doesn't legally owe you anything but I am quite surprised that you weren't properly thanked and offered something. I would just let it go. I'm assuming that you and your husband are in good health. I'd rather have good health and sit in the most uncomfortable seats than be ill and be in business class.

    You were called upon not once but twice to render medical aid AND you gave up your seat. I think you should be comped a first class ticket, or at the very least business class. I am sorry that American has not responded to you after a month.

    You deserve a refund, you paid for a business class seat and gave it up for a medical emergency. They shouldnt have an issue with it and if anything you should have a freebie. Not stingy at all
