Great vid, very balanced. I also use Comc and agree it is worth the money they charged, especially for higher priced cards. Just to mention also there is a $2.00 fee when you make an Ebay auction for Elite service. Also on my last submission it took 117 days before the first cards started to appear.

Great video with lots of information! Personally I feel COMC would be best if you intend to buy/sell within the site and for the most part keeping all your money onsite. I have no issue selling cards on eBay and ESUS shipping is a breeze especially with the $20 insurance it comes with. Fees on eBay as you know are roughly 12% and I cannot find anything hidden aside from that. I can photograph/list about 30 cards per hour and there are others who can do double/triple what I can. I appreciate all the info you laid out in this video as I have gone back and forth with the thought of consigning!

Thanks for the comment! I appreciate you watching the video. There will be pros and cons to using any middle-man and I think COMC and eBay are more or less 50/50 when it comes to that. Suppose you can't go wrong with either!

great breakdown, they are doing grading now, we absolutely love it! the process is so smooth.....regarding the submission fee, if you go right to auction theres no sub fee, only a 3.5% back end auction fee. the storage fee, can be eliminated by 50.00 a month , COMC wants higher end cards, I've noticed the more expensive cards I send in the better I do

Thanks for the in-depth and informative video! As someone who is mostly selling more low-end cards myself, I am not sure the amount of fees they charge is worth it. All of those on top of the actual price I paid for the card itself would make my margins razor thin. Selling on eBay/Mercari may mean the wait time is longer but the fees are less plus I am not paying any shipping costs. Anyway, really appreciate the video!

Such a valuable video. You should do a part two of you doing your maintenance on your stock and such on the site to show how it works. I was wondering, what if you have a lot of stuff that’s been there over a year like rarer base or less favored players? Is there a way to group all the cards in one final sale or auction, or would you ship the stale stock back to get rid of / donate it all?

Is there a better company like this, but for auction cards?
Like, is there one where i can submit a lot of $0.25 - $2.00 cards but have them auctioned?
I plan to submit a lot from case breaks. Like 30 Base Rookie cards of same player.
I don't necessarily want to list all of them for the lowest possible price just to sell. Would like to maximize my profits.

The submission fees are what they are, but in order to pay that fee, you get charged sales tax. That doesnt make sense to me at all. COMC doesnt consider the submission fees as a service - that should be changed

It’s amazing the staggering amount of money people will pay for convenience. I’ve been selling on eBay for 24 years. The fees make me cringe. But kudos to them for finding a need and supplying the service. It’s a great site for set fillers and if you can wait 2+ months to get your cards. Their picture quality is rough on eBay and has anyone looked at their eBay feedback? You’re paying for convenience.

You left out a fee, COMC will report you to the IRS when you cash out, you will get the 1099 form, lol. So, add in the fee of the IRS and the taxes you will pay and the extra form either you or your CPA will have to add to your taxes, and you get charge per form when filing taxes. :) The main reason I watched this video was to see if COMC reports you if you choose the ACH transfer, it says they report you when you choose the check option, but an ACH transfer is an electronic check, so I'm not sure.

A bit confused - regarding submission fees. Do I get charged first or can it be taken out post sale? Example - submit 100 cards at .50 per card. Do I pay $50 before they are even listed or can it be taken paid from the actual sales revenue?

    • @EagleMan_TradingCards
      @EagleMan_TradingCards  Год назад +2

Great question! Unfortunately it’s a flat fee that has to be paid up front. You can’t wait for the cards to be sold to pay for that fee. If you submit 100 you’d have to pay $50 up front before they can be listed for sale. Hope that helps!

Thanks for all the info. Is the 1 Cent per card fee for cards that are 75 cents before or after shipping is included ? For example, if I list a card for 65 cents, it auto adds 25 cents which shows as 90 cents. Will I be charged the 1 cent per card per month in this scenario or am I okay b/c card was listed as 65 cents ? Thanks again for your help

    • @EagleMan_TradingCards

This is a great question that I should have clarified better! Thanks for asking. I’m fairly certain the charges only apply to cards that are listed at 75 cents before the shipping charges are applied. So your card that you listed at 65 cents and then auto added the 25 cents for shipping would NOT apply. Hope this helps!

    • @EagleMan_TradingCards

If I just listed it, I’ll let it sit for awhile even if it’s not the lowest price. If a card hasn’t sold in awhile, I’ll adjust the price accordingly. Same goes for offers, I’ll hold off on accepting offers right away on cards I just listed but I’ll accept offers in cards I’ve had sitting for awhile.
