I was genuinely here as this was recorded, I was forever moved by this song
Edit: I was 10 years old and this one of the most vivid memories I have. I had to look through pictures to verify, but yes I was here as this was recorded. I remember the power I felt, I listened to this song everyday after for years, truly the best I’ve ever heard.
This is my very favorite song especially at Christmas. No song was ever written that compares to it and Mark Lowry sings it like no other can. ❤

our choir always spent a weekend at the beach in late September, to begin rehearsals for our Christmas concert. The first night we just sight read all the music. We were to sing this song for the first time, sang through it , with such feeling and expression. We were silent at the end, looking at each other with faces in disbelief. Woah!!! We GOT it from the beginning, never needed very much rehearsal, and it became our yearly Anthem for our concerts. I still get a big lump in my throat when I hear it, or sing it!

I knew Mark as a comedian back in the 80’s… didn’t know he sang until about 20 years ago…Awesome song one of my favs but I heard others sing it until I just googled it just now and realized he wrote it and sang it first 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have some of his comedy cassette tapes now. Love it!!! ❤
