The transformation is fantastic. The designers have done extremely well bringing the museum bang up to date without spoiling the ancient ambience of Norton Priory.
The new museum is fantastic, and really displays the artefacts so you can see them. They host a huge variety of events, suitable for everyone and it's lovely to see them working so hard to preserve almost a thousand years of history.
Love going to the museum and have enjoyed some recent events such as the Medieval fair and the Christmas Carols in the Undercroft this year. The new museum building is both contemporary and sympathetic to the subject matter and displays the collection beautifully. Looking forward to more visits during 2017.
Great film, and a truly amazing museum. The place is full of stories and inspiration. It's a really engaging place and the transformation has shown just how special a place this is. As someone who has a real passion for medieval history and an avid museum visitor, I have to say that I believe Norton Priory to be the best monastic site in the country on account of its treasures and the way the tales are told in this fantastic museum. The juxtaposition of the medieval tales with the stories of the later house and mansion have made it a real gem. And the gardens, special projects, great events and lovely welcome make it a wonderful place to return to time and again. Well done to all the staff and dedicated volunteers at Norton Priory.
Always enjoy visiting Norton Priory and the new development has added enormously to the site. Thoroughly recommended as a family day trip, with plenty of educational value. The events held at Norton Priory are especially recommended.
I loved going as a child with my family and on school trips but sadly over the years the old museum did not do the site justice. I now love taking my son and he loves going too, a site of real significance with lots of interesting things to see and activities to do. A fantastic museum and something to be proud of.
