I never realized that spectator mode was added to Undertale.

I don't think it's as hard outside of battle as inside of battle. When you're out of battle since the screen still somewhat follows you around you can kind of get where you are. Plus you become visible for a tiny moment after you enter a section so you do get some advantage from that. But in battle on the other hand...
