I have one of these, but it's called "pax" instead of "pal". I don't understand anything about cameras and all the functions that have but this video helped me a lot to at least understand how to open it! 😂 And understand what is what too haha. It belonged to my late father in law who I've never met, my partner wants to sell it, but I don't know it's in pretty good conditions and just needs a good cleaning up! It's it worth something as an antique? Would it be a good thing to keep it and try to investigate more and give it a use? Or would you recommend me to sell it to someone that will give it a good use? Thank you for making this videos!

Hi, they are gorgeous little cameras, very underated and not at all expensive, I'm addicted to them....

I just bought this and am waiting for it to be delivered
I'm quite new to analog photography - does this camera require any sort of batteries? And if so are they quite easy to get? Thanks so much!

@@thephotographersbag Thanks haha! Unfortunately the camera arrived with a missing shutter release button (the threaded one you point to in your video, which i couldn't find a replacement for anywhere), so I ended up having to refund it and so bought a Zenit E SLR instead

Hi, sorry to hear about your bad experience, Zenits are tough and I have many memories of using them back in the day, still have several of them....videos to come...

Great video. Never heard of the Pal brand. Bit surprised they got away with calling a rangefinder an M4!

It is now indeed surprising as the Leica M3 launched in 1954, can't explain it as Leica went all protective over the Olympus M1 which was renamed the OM1

@@thephotographersbag That's what I was thinking, maybe Leica saw the OM1 as more of a threat. Small SLR with great optics.
