It's amazing 56 days. When I did that trip from Channel Islands to Hawaii in my 27 solo, it took 20 days and 4 hours. Of course, I left June 30. I bet if you had to do it again, you would have waited? It's the chance you take when you leave in the winter. Mission accomplished and hopefully lesson learned.
No, we knew what we were in for and we left in the winter so that we could continue on down to the South Pacific at the right time of year. Writing this right now from Apia Samoa.

Yes! And that marina would not let us have a key until the next day after we had jumped through all of their hoops so that poor girl had to wait an extra 24 hours to take a shower!
