Short correction Moltke did not plan the Schliefen Plan. Field Marshal von Schliefen did, which is why the plan was called Schliefen Plan. His nephew Moltke the Younger revised the Schliefen Plan so that there were more divisions on the Russian border.
Nice reaction, although I generally disagree with most of your points specially on those related to the march of progress and it's values and conclusions it's interesting to hear your arguments from a more mainstream but still more informed than average perspective. To what videos are you planning to react next? From Napoleon I do recommend Epic History Napoleon's series, I would also really recommend as another great history channel Old Brittania, his ongoing series on the later Habsburg empire is really good, and his videos on Napoleonic era europe are also good (aside from the one of the peace of amiens as that one does feel a bit biased) and I think would be pretty interesting to you given their more conflicted view of Napoleon. Also one small thing on what you said on the video, Napoleon did absolutely implement censorship as he took control of all newspapers allowed to print after the brumaire coup, the thing is that although I do on principle disaggre on censorship and it can in many situations backfire, there are way too many examples in history if anything it's the standard that censorship and repression generally keep a regime in power, if those measures fail depend a lot more on the level of power, control and ability to use force the government has. As a very recent and common example there is a big reason in part of why after economic liberalization the communist regime of the Soviet Union fell but the communist party of China retained control, only one had Perestroika, and one also had the will to use it's force of arms on it's citizens and sadly although I do think it will end up failing long term due to economic and long term demographic issues, the ccp survived and if anything has only increased in it's power for now. Also appreciate that you give Napoleon III it's dues he was a really underrated monarch of France (and honestly in my view better than the first Napoleon long term but that's a whole other conversation), sadly as the original Napoleon I see his diplomacy as his weakest and ultimately disastrous field that led to his downfall, ironically like the first Napoleon.
I think it's difficult to compare different times in history when we talk about censorship. The Soviet Government had tanks to resist against her own people, Napoleon didn't. In my opinion, it is much easier in this era for people to revolt and be successful than now. Whilst Napoleon did his own propaganda and censorship when things got bad, he never fully clamped down on his opposition. You can probably find examples of every monarch ever doing "Iron fisting", but my point was that Napoleon never went to the same extents as, for example, Soviet Russia! As for what I'll be reacting to next. I've got a few videos in my growing list already. The next three are: Caesar in Gaul - Roman History DOCUMENTARY by Kings and Generals (priority as it was recommended to me by a long time member on my main channel) Napoleonic Wars by Epic History the Franks: the birth of modern Europe History mapped out channel Joan of Arc savior of kingdom of France by thecajun cutthroat
