I subscribe to their podcast and listened to it on the 17th when it came out. Frankly, I'm shocked it took the big fandom accts like BET so long to find it.
They were really lucky to have the parents that they had. They could have been forced to spend days on end behind desks and had their innate musical ability quashed by “ traditional schooling “. Instead their parents recognized that traditional schooling was not going to work for them, specifically Finneas who said that he had severe separation anxiety and was a “ weird kid “. And Maggie has said that Columbine was also a factor.
Their parents are also vegan and raised Finneas & Billie as compassionate, kind and caring people who never consumed violence in their nutritional sustenance. For anyone feeling sadness, depression, grief, loneliness, exhaustion, disconnection- I invite you and encourage you to stop eating animals and animal-sourced ingredients, all of which have come into the world of food production amidst pain, suffering, violence and death. Billie & Finneas are both vegan. Please follow their lead. Your only regret will be that you didn’t go vegan sooner. #govegan
@@kacichristian I completely agree that Billie and Finneas were incredibly fortunate with the way their parents raised them! That said, being vegan is unlikely to cure depression, sadness, loneliness etc., as these issues are influenced by many other factors. (For context, I’m vegan.) However, I fully support you in encouraging others to go vegan!
@rgriffie No one said being vegan was a *cure* for depression, sadness, loneliness, etc.; however, eating dead animals and animal secretions can be a hidden *cause* of depression, sadness, loneliness, etc. ✌️
I'm so impressed by how Billie and Finneas managed to keep it cool and kind when a lot of the questions and comments from the interviewer were so close minded and even kinda rude.
@@helenrosechapman & @billieeilishsbsf, yes, it seems like it’s time for the interviewer, Terry Gross, to hang up her headphones and retire. She’s nearly 74 (Feb 14, 1951). Throughout the interview, it seems clear she’s not familiar with Billie & Finneas’ work, and she doesn’t really listen to them, but just charges on to her next question. It’s been so exciting to witness the growth of Billie’s voice. And growth of two incredible people in general. I re-watched a long form interview from 2018 yesterday and it’s hard to explain how I can feel so proud of someone I don’t ‘know’. I imagine in the years and decades to come, we’ll look back at all these interviews with nostalgia. Billie & Finneas are generational talents.
These two musical geniuses are the reason to wake up each day. Can’t imagine what life would be without you two. You’re national treasures. Thank You for sharing your brilliant talents, masterpieces and intelligence. Nothing you do is forced and everything is WOWWEE! ❤❤
Their emotional awareness and dialectical abilities are just out of this world, they are so well spoken and emotionally intelligent, they always have such amazing answers to questions that could easily turn out to be boring if asked to people who don’t have their conversational skills. I deeply love them ❤
i still remember a friend sending me the soundcloud link when Oceans Eyes had like 600 listens.. back then it was good but didnt care for t.. now ill full Bille stan
Yes, I think this interview was a little uncomfortable because of the questions but I think they're used to this and they're getting better and better managing their emotions. So I loved it. ❤❤
I think this is an excellent interview. Not sure why the interviewer is being judged harshly. Interesting questions and insights. Have not heard anyone else ask these questions of Billie and Finneas.
I love hearing billie and finneas talk, but this interviews uncomfortable to say the least. the best i can say is this interviewer was ill equipped to be conducting this interview...
The style and substance of terris questions were pretty shameful but what else is new. Billie and Finneas exist outside of the boxes the media has a huge role in creating, so its no surprise they handled her asinine remarks with grace. But its still just so frustrating to listen to the old guard just refuse to engage with whats in front of them and instead cast judgement after judgement. Prodding Finneas with “why didnt you think your younger sister and her fans were annoying??” “Oh you weirdos were homeschooled!” Terris interviewed so many creative trailblazers over the years; do better journos!
