I hope you will do a Cerro Gordo Mine video and surrounding mines. I am interesting in learning more about these mines. The Cerro Gordo mine collapse story is one that I would like to more about.
My dad would have loved this it was his hobby he used gold dredges and paned back in the 60s and 70s up in the California San Bernardino mountains and creeks for gold he loved the desert. He would read the desert magazines he received each month from cover to cover and go out looking for old mines like this. He was a WWII veteran flying 52 missions in B17's. Thanks for the videos, Mike

Thank You. To many people go into the remote desert and get in trouble. The trip I just came back from two people with 3 small kids got a flat, didn't know how to change the tire. Worst of all, they didn't have water. Granted it was only 80 degrees that day, but the kids did not have a drink in a couple of hours. Then I almost flatten their father. I handed him three bottles of water for the kids, assuming he would be like a normal father and give it to the kids, NO! He opened a bottle and started drinking the water. I yelled at him telling it was for the kids. Got water in the kids, gave them a granola bar each and changed his tire.

For those who want to scream trespassing! Having a mining claim on Public lands does not give the claim holder the right to make it Private Property unless its a Patented Claim. A claim simply gives you the right to work it for minerals, in fact if someone holds a "Load Claim" on a particular property & doesn't have the "Placer Claim" someone else can file a Placer claim on that same property. Although this normally causes issues.
That is not necessarily true, In our area, there are several places that are not patented, but someone has kept the county taxes paid up, so they do own the buildings. They don't have to keep the claim current. A good rule of thumb, if it is locked, then leave it alone.
@@pattymcdarment1395 Public Lands are not private property. The statement was regarding land you can Legally file a claim on, not Parks, Monuments, Historical areas & so on. Many people start gating off or blocking public access when it is not their property, it is illegal & should not be tolerated.

Hunting for silver? When exactly?! I was hoping to see silver veins or for you to explain when ‘hunting for silver’ what are some indicators in the rock you look for. Hell, maybe even use a pick and do a little prospecting. You should have labeled the video, ‘exploring old silver mining tunnels’ I’ve watch dozens of exploration videos but there are very few that look at the actual minerals in the wall and actually do some prospecting. I wouldn’t be so harsh but frankly I just hate being click-baited.
@GreatJuju -- Silver Ore doesn't look like Silver Metal (Silvery in color) , its Black . Silver when exposed to Air ''tarnishes'' and gets a Black coating of Silver Oxide . Very very rarely do you find Silver Metal in nature , but it's mostly amalgamated with Gold in the form of ''Electrum'' .
This is only a response to your comment about this not being private property: if this is a properly staked and filed group of mining claims under the 1872 mining law passed by Congress it is private property and you would be trespassing. Owners would be within their rights to file trespass against anyone on this property. All structures and equipment on the property are private property as well.

So what state is this
This is right on the border of California and Nevada. The border cuts through the middle of the site.
That is actually a pretty big mine, for such minimal equipment ... and landscape scars ... 🤔
It is a very large complex. Some of the lower tunnels are now collapsed which is a shame. There was some really cool stone work in those tunnels.
