For example, Colin Moriarty in Fallout 3 references his old man coming to the Capital Wasteland.
Cait and Amari should've had similar stories to explain their heavy accents. The Nakanos are perhaps the worst examples, especially given dialogue that the family has roots in the Commonwealth.

Good luck with implementing it. The usual types got their panties in a bunch and their buddies at Nexus promptly bent over and banned it. The fact MutantMods supports banning things that offend people's delicate sensibilities is unsurprising. Censorship should never be supported in any aspect, regardless of context. The community as a whole and not the lowest common denominator should decide what mods are popular and which are not.
I didn't mind the ability to mind break your companion in the Frontier (a cool evil option where evil characters don't really get much opportunity to shine) but I found it funny how much of a shit fit the devs made about how they weren't going to let you join the enclave because they were an 'objectively evil' fascist faction or whatever. Interesting where they drew the line. The Scaly lizard fucking was really bizarre and was what really threw me for a loop.

The “scaly lizard fucking” is clearly a joke if you’ve played the mod. It’s identical to fisto or the super mutant random encounter in fallout two, or like… all the sexual encounters in fallout two. It may be a little played out as far as jokes go, but it’s comedic and fits with the character of the faction; they’re built on obfuscating stupidity, and you can pass a skill check to talk business with the queen without any beating around the bush. The whole “scaly lizard fucking and also drugs” is meant to make you not take them as a threat, but in a lot of their endings they come to dominate the frontier in one way or another because no one took them seriously. They’re like the khans but if they were actually intelligent and cool. The fact that you as the player think that they’re nothing more than a joke or fetish is kind of the point, that’s how they’re seen in universe, and they take advantage of that fact in most of their endings. It’s actually really brilliant

@@overlordoftemi7255 the legion at least makes sense that you can join them, the enclave would not ideologically let you join them unless you were a pure human, which is the only reason they let you even work with them in 3, so being a pure human isn’t even enough for them.
Enclave larpers threw a shit fit and that’s why people think the frontier is bad. If they didn’t, it would have been remembered as fondly as new California, which was at or below the quality of the frontier, and worked on by the same people, yet it doesn’t have the same reputation, probably because you can join the enclave.
Single issue 4channers with no spine or moral consistency killed the frontier and frankly any other big mod that was planned, as there’s now a taboo in the fandom towards huge new Vegas mods (and huge mods in general, notice how there’s been no new one announced or that the current big mods haven’t gotten as much attention as they did before the frontier)
The first mod ruffled some feathers on our friend group, so I tried it, and was suprised by the quality, even added voice actors, the mod team should be proud, it actually made the game enjoyable.

Certainly would make the game more bearable (Although fixing Starfield would take ten times the effort that the Fallout 4 mod had), but lore-wise it probably wouldn't make sense assuming that replacement migration kept happening. You'd still end up with that black "Russian" except he wouldn't bother with the farce of calling himself Russian or Vladimir since he has his black/non-native community to identify with.

I played “cannibal of Concord”. In my adolescence, I was fascinated by serial killers of history, and when I played it, I was impressed about the detail and references in the mod. I’m not much of a puzzle player, though, so I did find myself bashing my head against the wall a few times, but it was a good payoff.

Mechanist sounds like a total nerd who read too many comic books, Ronnie sounds like the type of stereotypical patriotic Bostonian you'd expect to join the Minutemen, the raiders from the Cap cafe act like the kind of raiders you'd see in classic Fallout and FNV, Amari is actually a likeable guy, maybe etc? There is so much effort put into it wtf, it's literally meant to be racist and sexist why are some of the changes actually kinda good.

@@Mutant_Mods The game itself is a delusion. An America that kept going with its patriotic rhetoric and theme of the 50's having a racially diverse Boston after 200 years of nuclear fallout? Even if the area was diverse to begin with, after all that time the area would be notably more homogenous in traits (or maybe not since people do also self-segregate in diverse cities). Also the general concensus from what I've heard is that tribal and gender norms would revert back to their previous states in civilizational collapse, especially with scarcer resources driving people further to the edge.

Everybody saying that the first mod is realistic or lore friendly never even played Fallout, dude. Fallout's always been diverse. Shady Sands, the founders of the NCR were brown. Gay marraige can happen in Fallout 2. The Enclave in Fallout 2 is respectful toward Special Needs people. There are several important gay and lesbian characters in New Vegas. The 1950's retrofuturism aspect only extended to the geopolitocs and some technology, not the civil rights or even weapons technology (there are several 90's weapons in Fallout 2, lots of New Vegas weapons are NOT 50s)

14:10 a little additional lore about the "cope note". That was added in after people started questioning the intent of the mod makers. It would clarify she was "legal", but just barely.
That combined all the other degenerate behaviour amoungst the writers, its not hard to understand why people think the worst of them.
For the first mod i do think some of the voice acting and dialogue changes are pretty good like the raider being more hostile which would make perfect sense in that situation or the mad scientist leaning into Nate's sarcasm and requesting the brain that feels like a dialogue exchange id find in fallout 1 or 2 and fits the tone perfectly!
Its just a shame that everything else is just so.....*yeesh* like seriously there was zero need for all the race and gender swapping and it just comes across as at best cheap controversy bait and at worse legitimate racism/sexism
I actually know of the author of the first mod and lowkey respect the amount of effort that went into it.
I dont agree that the mod shouldve been removed or him being banned however. The choice to ignore it is always there. Plus, there are worse mods publicly available. If the replacement mod is removed then all the kid killin' and sexually deviant mods should too. Not to say i think they should either, i believe in free expression, regardless of how controversial. But set a standard, be consistent y'know? Im rambling at this point, so i'll drop it here.

Okay, well, if you think psychologically breaking a little girl to make her an obedient slave is not unhinged, perhaps because it actually happens all too often in our sickened little world, then I don’t want to know what fucked up thing you think is unhinged. That being said, I can understand the mentality of allowing a player to make his character evil, because otherwise the game’s story runs the risk of limiting the player’s role-play to heroes, anti heroes, and small time crooks of no significance. But seeing someone actually choosing to be this monstrous and takes enjoyment out of it, I cannot adequately describe the horror it invokes in me seeing it. I do think that what we imagine willfully in our head and heart, as well as the actions committed in fantasy, whether that be in daydream or video game, prepares the mind for the first realized offense, more than one truly realizes.
For the average person, even contemplating such things sickens them to the core, and anyone who is tasked to recount such actions by another normally feel like they do so while drinking the essence of bitterness. Disgust is a key feature of a moral human being, that he or she should favor the sweet over bitter alternatives. A person who removes their capacity for disgust, believing that doing so makes them more objective and inclusive of competing ideas and opinions, may find themselves walking down paths horrifying, and they don’t even realize that they are.

I'm mixed race and have zero issues with the first mod. Asian roommate doesn't have an issue with it either. All in all it actually looks decently made and if some people prefer to play it I don't see the problem. There's nothing immoral about it.

I have since looked further into this mod and its literally fallout 4 but every npc is white. There is no offensive content added towards other groups. Even mutant mods has apologized and admitted he was wrong to overreact. You cannot make a moral argument against it so you result in passive aggressive comments towards me.

I remember seeing the first mod the hour it was posted and thought " wow this isnt going to last long". Honestly wanted to try it just to see all the effort he put into the racist mod. I understand why they removed it but i do find it kinda dumb considering its a single player game and players choose what mods to download so i didnt see the harm in it. Feel like if the porn mods could stay than it shouldve too. Yes, there is an ethical reason to censor such a mod, you aren't factoring in all the ways it could potentially be harmful. One doesn't need to play with the mod, read about it or even know about it for it to be harmful to them. Why that is is from the simple fact that the ideas the mod propegates are inherently reprehensible. Playing it, reading about it, that's not the problem. Its mere existence is the problem, the fact that he's saying "these are accurate gender roles, men are strong and women are weak stupid and unimportant." could lead to people believeing such a falacy and then propegating that hate onto others.
Surely you must see the falacy in such a thing?

Stanfield is in desperate need of a mod like grounded for fallout 4. If there were, I would actually consider purchasing the game.
Honestly Starfield would benefit from the same style of mod but leaning into more diverse. I find it super odd that all of humanity speaks English with different accents. It'd be cool if they took the translations of a language and replaced the English for each person with an accent so you'd have to read the subtitles. Slap some lore about a universal translator or something in there too.
