The Perettiite Space Odyssey

A compilation of footage of the rare and complex silicate-borate mineral Perettiite-(Y). It was first discovered in 2015 by Dr. A. Peretti as an inclusions in a phenakite crystal from Mogok, Myanmar.

I have black stone that have a really different inclusion in comparison to 22 existing black gem hoping someone would see it by expert.

Dr. Peretti, could you elaborate on the formation of the crystals?, do they grow at the same time as the matrix? growth starts at the center? do they grow after the matrix is formed?

Formed during the precipitation of phenakite in cavities of the pegmatite, at a certain dramatic event of fluid mixing during the pegmatite evolution of its differentiation. However, during this event, they may also float to other positions of the caverns and precipitate on earlier formed phenakite or mimic that they are formed before phenakite, when they are overgrown by late stage phenakite.
