Breaking down the shipper boxes is actually kind of brilliant. Quality video once again!
Thanks man! I wish I would have done it sooner, but I was scared. lol
Love this one! Who knew packers fans were so organized! 🔥
Haha we are very strategic! Thanks for watching boss!
That's a Great idea Graeme. I'm currently storing my shipper/art boxes under the stairs too. I like how you can easily see the art box you might need if looking for another accessory for a figure. If I need to swap accessories right now it's kind of a pain.
Thanks Brad! I got sick of it being unorganized and not being able to walk in there. Made me not want to get any type of accessory lol. Thanks for watching! 🤘🏻🐺
Keeping the box limits how many figures you can get unless you have another room or you rent a storage facility. I say burn the boxes!
Maybe one day I’ll get to that point, but I’ll need to run out of areas to store them first😂
@@thejediknightswatch it usually has to get to that point.
Key point for me: maximize value. If you ever sell, it gets you a little more. For me personally that’s important in this hobby.
Agreed! It’s not an investment but at the same time maximizes value. Thanks for watching sneaker!🤘🏻🐺
What about consolidating?
If I have multiple of the same figure (Clone Trooper, Royal Guard, etc), usually I consolidate all the accessories into one box and toss out the extras.
Def something to think about if you collect multiples
Nice video. Strangely enough I was trying to think today where to store my boxes, as they are in a spare bedroom and are just an eyesore.
Def the crappy part about collecting lol. Thanks for checking out the video!
My heads melted lol great idea about breaking down the shippers. I'm a believer in keeping all the pieces in case you want to box up or resell. No worries at all, love the channel. Hope the Boxer is doing good!
@@shamrockballs1066 she’s as annoying yet lovable as ever!
I guess I'm fortunate enough that I have my own storage building so I can pack my art box/shippers inside a tote and store them in my building. I place all my accessories into a tackle box for easy access
That’s pretty cool! Yes, no need for you to worry about space then!
Very nice Graeme I love how the IG post sparked the content, made it more clear on how you go about it so far I’m okay but will need to do something eventually I like the idea of breaking down the shippers tho definitely will save space.. honestly I think us collectors all would say the best solution is buying another house strictly for boxes would be the best alternative..imagine 😂👍🏽
Haha, maybe I’ll build a shed just for art box storage 😂. At some point I’ll have to make a tough decision, but that isn’t today lol
@@thejediknightswatch😂 yea lol your not too far off ive though of that but making a climate controlled one but thats gotta be expensive and worth it hey it may drive up the property value! But im the same way the tackle box/baggie method I’m not interested in I like keeping it all the way it is but these damn boxes keep getting bigger and bigger!
I don't save the shipper boxes - I used to have the boxes neatly stacked above my bookcases, and the shipper boxes just didn't look good. But late last year I went to the extreme of renting a small conditioned storage space.
Damn son! How many figures do you have?
@@thejediknightswatch Best I can recollect off the top of my head (at the office) and not including preorders or imminent arrivals, I have about
139 Star Wars
2 Samurai
3 DC
10 Marvel
90+ WWII German
4 WWII Japanese
19 WWII American
8 WWI
1 Korean War
1 Vietnam War
50+ modern military (it's been a few years since I last counted them)
@@daniel_sc1024 nicely done!
What you make with keeping a box you spend in shipping by pillow effect. To each their own.
I store all of mine in the closet. Pretty old fashioned lol.
lol 😜
Just started the video and as someone who collects certain things in box… getting rid of boxes sounds… stressful.
lol, I'm with you on that!
I don't have any kinda storage space. My boxes have been living in the corner of my kitchen. But as I've added more figures and vehicles, it's gotten to be overwhelming. So I've started going through and breaking down certain art boxes, tossing the clam shells. The plastic bags still fit around the art boxes so I'm keeping them wrapped up. If I decide to sell something to make room for something else, I can still pack everything up securely inside the art box and shipper…it’ll just be in packing paper instead of hard plastic.
Not a bad idea. Have you ever thought of keeping the art boxes with the clam shell and stacking them to make, say a kitchen table? 🤣
LOL could you imagine the absolute DREAD when someone knocked over a drink on that table?
@@Xman_supreme 🤣
I break down the shippers and i store the art boxes in totes to keep them safe and all accessories stay in their boxes i don’t want them damaged if i decide to sell a figure
Great thinking! Thanks for sharing!
I keep them because as a collector and if I purchase second or third party I want it how it was received.
Exactly!
Doesnt keeping the Art boxes in their shipper boxes prevent the Art boxes from getting scuffed & getting dust on them? Doesnt a growing pile of broken down Shipper boxes create it's own seperate space issue after awhile? Why not just keep the Art box inside the Shipper, and Label the Shipper?
Is it ok to throw away all the boxes, because you're never going to sell? If tragedy was to befall you, should you keep the boxes so your family could maximize their value if they sell your collection? 🤔😊
Yes they do protect the art boxes, which is why I mentioned I was hesitant, but the fact I can store the shippers in the garage gives me so much more room to store my art boxes close by.
I def would rather hold onto them Incase a life emergency happens and I need to sell. Thanks for watching and commenting!
renting a unit for boxes will eat your vaule of the figures by paying monthly
Exactly. Not something I recommend, but I also understand if options are limited. Not something I’ll do tho
Get the boxes, look at them, open them, gather some accessories. All of this is part of the pleasure of collecting. Yes, you can get rid of them, but you will certainly lose something.
Great points my friend! 🤘🏻🐺
I get rid of the boxes. I don't intend to ever sell.
Fair enough! Most I don’t intend to sell but I also never say never lol
Trashed 🗑
Nice
Hey I found your channel yesterday and love it, you should go on more hunts even if you don’t buy anything
Hey man, welcome to the channel! More hunts would be fun! Just need to get the nerve to record in public lol
@@thejediknightswatch hahah gotcha I guess it comes with time of course. I do have a question, I have both versions of the endgame thanos but thinking about getting rid of the clean one. You think I’ll regret it?
@alexlowe4442 I feel like the BD is the superior figure. I sold the clean to get the BD and I have no regrets.
@@thejediknightswatch my guy, thank you for settling that! I’ve been thinking about it for days. I’m gonna have thanos fighting cap now 👍
@@alexlowe4442 sounds awesome!
