There are lots of childhood games that required little to no "props" or literally just using what you have around you even in the US. However games with cards and props and an elaborate boards were fairly dominant, and anything else required dice or regular playing cards. The big crossover here is the fortune teller was super popular when I was in school in the late 90s/early 2000s...and the yo-yo of course. It does seem like the Korean culture had WAY more of a variety though and a lot more to do with just ordinary stuff laying around. It's strange that Gonggi was looked at almost exclusively a girls' game because I have zero context.
I loved wi ha joon in the last season... But this season along with him.. I'm really crushing over Kang ha neul ...ahhh 😻😍🤩🤩... Couldn't take eyes of him ..he played the character really well!!!
They really did Wi Ha Jun wrong. He was one of the best characters in season 1 and they gave him the WORST character development and made him pretty useless in season 2.

Thanos actor has been shunned from all promotion coz Korean media backlash of something he did yrs ago. Which makes no sense because many of the cast from season 1 and 2 have done so much worse.

Also he tried to take his own life and it looks like the Korean media wants to push him in that direction again by forcing him to be shunned. Quite demonic of the media.

it is actually good revival of 80's -2000 childrens games, whether it is indoor or outdoor, because everything during that time does not involve gadgets..i hope children around the world experience this stuff and also i hope more old toys should be seen in stores/shops...
Season 2 cast is very strong!! all of them actors were pretty spot on ontheir characters!! I enjoyed the second season a lot!! Can't wait to more episodes!!

Out of all the promotional videos and interviews the cast has done, this one is by far my favorite. The story about writing "idiot" on the fortune teller made me laugh so hard.
i'm not ready if player 388 sacrificed his self on season 3 because of what he did at the end of season 2, leaving behind the other players killing the pink soldiers. but thankful that somehow he saved player 120's life.
I'm in my 20s and we played the majority of these in Greece too. I had a Yoyo, the eraser, east west north south, marbles (i didn't play mostly older people) and the gonggi (my grandfather recognized it as the game of the 5 marbles) i have tried origami the sketch thing and the coin game. The others i didn't know of. However I'm glad that everywhere little kids play similar games. Its heart-warming.

I just wanted to state that it is very adorable to me that a few of the games like gonggi, jegi, the fortune telling one were also played by my parents . While we were watching squid game they said that hey! We used to play this toooo. They were so happy to see these games it almost felt as if they were getting flashbacks on the spot . I can’t remember what they called gonggi or jegi but the fortune telling one was called Tippi-tippi-tap . My mother also told that jegi was also played with 100 pieces . And I also had the horse racing toy . Squid game was an amazing series and I truly enjoyed it ❤ . Love from India
fun fact, in the video where the cast of the show play the games, Kang Ha-Neul, the actor who plays the ex marine, explained that his pinky fingers by birth can’t touch his ring fingers, so the production crew actually brought in a legit gonggi master just to film that scene for him

Seeing the actors try out some children's games and seeing their reaction is really funny. Im Si-Wan was amazing playing yo-yo. It also brings me good memories of my childhood. Does anyone have any clues as to what the last 3 games we might see last season will be? I tried to look closely at the walls where the participants' beds are and it seemed to me that I saw clues of 2 games. One may be a board game, the other is a little similar to the crystal bridge, but participants will have to cross from one side to the other holding ropes.
