Date of recording: September 2022
About my work - I remove beaver dams when I receive an order from a state organization.
I do not choose which dam to remove. It is decided by officials at the request of nearby residents. Each dam is assessed in advance if it can and if should be dismantled.
Removing the dam is not a threat to beavers. I do not remove their houses - lodges.
Dams are removed only in places where beavers cause damage, for example by flooding nearby fields, flooding the basements of nearby houses, or when the stream on which beavers built their dam is degraded.
Even though beavers are very invasive animals, they are under strict protection in our country.
I personally like all animals, so beavers are fine too.

Great job! Here's an idea if you wear a wrist brace or wrap under gloves... worth a try...
It would certainly make my job easier.
Fortunately, the injury has already healed. But last year, the wrist made itself felt more than once.

I broke four bones in my wrist on my dominant hand. Three knock me out/ put me under surgeries, one five inch 'y' plate and one ten inch long rod with 17 screws later and I'm not back to normal and probably never will be. So I totally understand your pain. And I make wire-wrapped jewelry.
Fortunately, my wrist injury has almost completely healed.
But I don't envy you, because I also know what it means to have broken bones. Luckily for me, they always grew together without any problems.
So I wish you a lot of health 👋

I don't understand why the branches are piled up again above the dam into a pile. The branches can drift downstream as an island and block the river throughout. What's that all about?
Warum die Äste wieder oberhalb des Dammes zu einem Haufen aufgeschichtet werden verstehe ich nicht. Die Äste konnen als Insel flussabwärts treiben und im ganzen Stück den Fluss blockieren. Was soll das?
