Air suspension systems essentially replace a vehicle's coil springs with air springs..the air springs are simply tough rubber and plastic bags inflated to a certain pressure and increase height of vehicle..👍🏻

Its the brake chambers that scares the hell outta me. Got under a flatbed and changed the front bags and turned around and the chamber behind me was almost split in two. The hole for the cage bolt was almost twice the size it should've been. I got lucky that day

there is another sound they make from air brakes venting when you let off the pedal
it's rare you will deflate inflate the air suspension in a lorrie unless you need to lower ride height to get into a loading bay
busses do it all the time to lower ride height for passengers getting on and off the bus

That's the Brakes & parking Brake sound. This particular one is different & only heard when coupling/de-coupling trailers.

We call it a lazy axle on a rigid truck, so when laden, upto 60-65% of the load remains on the drive axle and 40% on the lazy axle. I learnt my trade on this type of set up in the 80s on a Ford D1000 series powered by a Cummins V8.
Learns mine on a 72 brockway,a 75 autocar,and 87 autocar and a 96 R model mack and a 2010 mack Graniteim my last truck the moved the air regulator out of the cab so that it couldnot be adjusted while in operation and often times were preset from the factory and were supposed to be tamper proofed.
Somebody needs to adjust the leveling valve for the proper ride height .....those airsprings are nearly topped-out!!!!!

I had a set in my old Jeep YJ. I kept the leaf springs as a back up but the old springs probably rarely felt a load on them.

For some reason I always imagined air suspension as a really thick strut but with pressurized air instead of hydraulic fluid

I was on the side of my monitor thinking it was gonna pop so moved out the way just in case. The noise was the wind up for me LOL
My 2000 Ford Expedition had those. After years of replacing relays, fuses and whatever…. I just replaced them with simple gas shocks. ❤❤❤❤

Dang, cars are truly badass. I drive my car everyday and take for granted all the cool and awesome synchronized events occurring from front to back. I enjoy how practical it all is under the sheet metal.
Your car most likely doesn’t have air ride suspension. But yeah cars are complicated but amazing

And if they blow up while you're near them, you're going to be almost deaf for several seconds. I know that happened to me when 1 of these decided to go pop at roughly 2 meters away from me.

And people use it for normal cars too. Its called a bagged car/a car on bags/airlift. Preferrably for people who want to adjust their ride height at a flick of a switch or a press of a button while also being comfortable since its just softer than adjustable coilovers.

A rollinng lobe air bag is a bit more complicated than that. I had one explode about a foot from my head while working on a transit coach, couldn't hear for about a week.

Cho hỏi là bên trong chạy bằng khí nén hay là bằng cái ti đẩy vậy nhỉ. Nếu chạy bằng khí nén liệu cao su bên ngoài chịu được bao lâu thì phải thay thế.

I have a 1977 toyota sr5 long bed pick up, in the rear the truck has leaf springs , I'm replacing them with a lowered custom fab push rod coil over system its gunna drive like a sports car. Also where my rubber bump stops are to keep me from bottoming out I'm installing an adjustable bag system incase I ever need to haul extreme weight or find myself in the dirt. The whole cab and frame are getting a beautiful yet hidden detachable Roll cage ad well. The engine that's in the truck right now is the 20r its a 4cylnder that is only pushing g out 100 horses but my goal is to more than double those num ers , can't wait to start the engine mods, if it's not scary fast enough for me still then when I er boost the p oor 20r ima switch it up to the 3.4 or 3.u litters v6 from a 96 T100 that's fly rebuilt and is ready for a out 350 to 40p HP gunna effin eptic

Some of them are supposed to be setup this way. I used to build off-road chip vans for a Canadian company that had 3 ride height settings. On road, off-road, and deflated. The off-road setting was 6 inches taller than on road ride height.

Buses in Indonesia also use air suspension for the purposes of passenger comfort and make it easier for passengers to get on or off.
There are those who use chassis from Europe such as Scania Volvo Man and Mercy and there are those who use chassis from Japan such as Hino.If use a Hino chassis, sometimes the suspension still uses leaf springs, so some car body manufacturers modify it and add air suspension.

Why do they need to inflate the airbags once the vehicle starts moving normally? Especially in buses?
The tag or lift axle is not used for leveling purposes. It's main purpose is an extra set of brakes on the asphalt for when you r heavy. The raise and drop them at turns cause if you left that down and made a turn you would be dragging that tire sideways across your turns eventually ruining it. Those axles are used only goin forward and are lifted every turn to preserve tires. They make huge difference in bringing 80,000lbs to a stop.

This system has nothing to do with ride height. It is to raise your dropped E-van up to dock height for loading and unloading. Had several of these units during my 22 years in the high value products division. One of the older trailers controls on the front of the trailer shorted out on a rainy night on 95 northbound in CT. There is no indicator light in cab. Someone yelled out on CB that about ripped my back doors off topping an overpass. It was all bad. Hydraulic ram lifts are much better and safer.

I worked on trucks for 3 1/2 years and never one time of all the guys I worked with and all the knowledge they had did anybody ever talked about how dangerous it really is the fact that that chassis is nearly a foot higher, whenever, and the suspension is fully aired up
