      27! Congrats! We always keep track of how many national park sites (out of the 430 or so), that we've been to (currently 81). I never think to count the actual national parks for some reason. LOL

      Just counted. We're at 19, so we've got a ways to catch you!

      @@WereintheRockies ...but 62 of the smaller parks is really incredible :) We are roughly 28 of the smaller parks. As you know, while not considered One of the "BIG PARKS" the smaller parks are really amazing. So of our favorite experiences are from visiting these smaller gems. The Rangers and Docents are so passionate about their little peice of the National Park story. Fort Union (MT) Grant Kohts Ranch (MT) Craters of the Moon (ID) Mount Rushmore (SD) Jewel Cave (SD) Colorado Monument (CO) Agate Fossil Beds (WY) Little Bighorn (WY) and Devil's Tower (WY) are .some that blew us away (but honetly I vould add all of them

      @@jymnmeier3527 totally agree!! Been to almost all the ones you mentioned and loved them. Just hit 4 or 5 in Arkansas as well and they are always educational

    I'll add to the list....Mt Rushmore -winter-. NO crowds.

    Yosemite National Park is stunning in the winter. It is transformed into a fairy land. The falls are still flowing and you’ll see a large pile of ice at the bottom.

    I absolutety agree with the list. Other parks to visit in winter are pretty much all the ones in the Sunbelt. Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon (South Rim), Saguaro, Petrified Forest, White Sands, Carlsbad and Guadalupe, Big Bend.

    We did Sedona, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon South Rim (with your guide), Antelope Canyon (lower), Horseshoe Bend, and Monument Valley all between Christmas and New Year and it was great! Still crowds at the Grand Canyon and cold but we loved it. We would go again in the winter!

    We’ve enjoyed Estes Park in early winter. Trail Ridge Road is closed, but there’s still plenty of Rocky Mountain National Park to see, and without the crowds. (Especially during the week! We had Bear Lake pretty much all to ourselves) Plus the town was lit up for the holidays, and The Stanley Hotel lobby had a pretty Christmas tree. Temperatures were still mild and the snow covered mountains were beautiful! Plus, off-season prices were great.

    We are planning on North Dakota and Montana this summer. I haven’t found a video from you guys on ND - only one. Any other tips that would be helpful? Thanks!

    We’ve been to WDW in early December and in the summer. I really enjoyed December better. Crowds were much nicer, but very festive!

      Same for us. Our family has often gone the week after Thanksgiving. Weather always good. Christmas decorations everywhere. Crowds slight lower that first few days AFTER Thanksgiving.

    Park City, UT Ice Castles - is March too late to go see it? Never been, planing to go this year!

      Of course it depends on the year, but March is definitely on the edge - maybe early March

    We are planning a trip to AZ and Utah to do the Grand Circle of parks in March. Good time/bad time? We know it will be cooler but does it get warm, too?

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  5 месяцев назад

      Pretty good time, but most of the Utah parks will be cold and Bryce will almost for sure be snowy. Grand Canyon north rim is closed, but it's a good time for south rim, and Zion. You could even push it to April or early May for better weather and more greenery if you want.
