Hello from Tennessee 8:11 pm here on 4/17/24. I'm a long time fan, I became interested in missing people when a young Airman went missing several years ago. We are an Air Force family, so it really hit close to home. Thanks so very much for all you do. Your presence, kindness, and diligence means a lot to so many people. Hey, just wondering if you will be doing the factual news anymore? My hubby and I really appreciate your insight into current events. God bless you Dave. Thanks again.

I knew Chet. We were more like acquaintances, and went to the same church , and had some of the same friends. When he disappeared, it was a huge shock. They actually found his camera in his car. He was in very good shape. I always remembered him being very well-built and strong. Super nice guy. It’s really very bizarre.

Tragic, even for an acquaintance. I hope his family has managed to recover some stability, it has to cause one insecurities.
I would have to employ a Channeler to gain an idea of his outcome, for closure.
I can't help but wonder if some of these aren't some sort of Dimensional Shift. They are all such tragic scenarios.
Are there that many derranged Sociopaths in the mist of our population?
I wonder if Dave hasn't his own ideas, that he's reluctant to share, based on the data.
      Best Thoughts ...

As a photographer, I can think of a few reasons photographers go missing more often
    1) we tend to chase sunrise and sunset light, which means hiking in the dark one way or the other
    2) we tend to hike alone, often as a product of the obscure hiking hours being less compatible with non-photographers
    3) we find more reasons to leave the trail to get the right composition, increasing the risk of losing the trail or falling off a ledge. We also tend to push the limits of getting close to ledges for the same reason

@@canammissingproject Please, take a look at the missing case of Corey, a 13 year old boy from Knott, Kentucky. It is a classic missing 411 case, his body was eventually found (and it was in an area that had been searched several times before his body was found there. His corpse was found in an area where he couldn't have possibly gone by himself, hundreds of feet uphill of very steep and moody terrain as it was raining heavily when the search for the boy started which interfered with the search).
On the boy's corpse was found DNA of an unknown canine and people in the investigation said that there were byte marks of a canine holding him in his teeth like dog mothers hold their puppies, except the kid was over 100 pounds which means this canine had to be the size of a bear in order to be able to do this.
The relative of the boy said they saw a canine type creature kidnap the boy from the backyard.
Everyone who is into cryptids is convinced that it was a dogman that kidnapped and killed the boy, including people in the boy's village.
Some unknown, unidentified agents showed up in the village after the disappearance and they were giving orders to the local police. The family of the child was threatened not to speak publicly about what happened.
By the way, the boy was autistic and of German descent.

Dave, thank you for encouraging our children to be respectful of our worry. My 23 year-old daughter moved back in with us. We live at 10k elevation; 6 miles of her 24 mile one-way trip to town for college is a steep and treacherous drive.
No matter how many times I tell her to let us know her plans, she doesn’t. She also will spend the night with friends, so she becomes “overdue” in my mind.
I’ve told her many times, you are not asking for my permission. I don’t care where you are or what you are doing, I just want to know you are ok.
I’ve told both my children: at ten pm, I’m convinced you’ve been in a single car accident, and that you’re in a ditch with a Wolverine eating your face. That’s where my worry STARTS.

Hi from a South African, living in Austria. Photographer here: we usually go alone into isolated places. I went quite deep into a forest early one morning to capture deer. It was a beautiful Misty morning and I wanted to get images with mist. I’d been doing this for years in different areas in different forests and usually started out at 5 a.m. (spring). One morning things went quiet and I started feeling very uncomfortable. I started running back to my car like a crazy woman. Drove out of there and have never gone back to any forests. To this day, I don’t know why, after so many years I became so afraid that I won’t go near isolated places which I so loved to do. I changed my photography to food photography.

Sasquatches can make you feel that way, especially the complete silence, no bugs or frogs or birds chirping. It's enough to make you feel very uncomfortable. Now, I'm too old to go out in the woods by myself & I would do what Steve of "How to Hunt" If you want to go in those parts of the deep woods, you should think like you do when you pray, saying, "I'm not here to hurt you. I just need to find places where I can take some good pictures. I won't bother you & I'd appreciate it if you don't bother me. Thanks.

There are crafts that you can make using dog hair. I think that you can do some sort of "spinning" and weaving with it, or even making it into some dort of crewel-work or embroidery! You can even use your own imagination and come up with your own ideas for projects.
You might even make items that could be crafted from Great Pyrenees dog hair, sold at craft fairs, and the profit could be donated to animal shelters. A very creative person could work with this idea & come up with some good ideas! 👍🤗🐶🐕🐩🐕‍🦺🦮

I've had 3 Great Pyrenees during my adult years. They are wonderful guardians for your families, homes, etc. One of the ways they show their protectiveness is by barking. We lived on acre lots, took them on daily walks, socialized them to try to prevent boredom barking from annoying our neighbors. Barking is part of their nature. You just learn to read their barks. Whether they are just talking or if they are alerting you to danger. Another name I have for these special dogs is "Gentle Giants." Thanks for your concern for Dave and his family. I'm sure he and everyone else appreciates it.

A photographer is always looking for that perfect point of perspective, I can totally see a photographer wandering off trail a bit to get that perspective and falling into a crevasse or off a cliff or into a river because they're paying attention to the perspective they're looking for not where they're placing their feet or whats in front of them

YES! Nobody will ever love you like your parents.
My husband lost both of his parents, then several years later my own mother passed away and he held me and said, "Oh kitty, I'm so sorry about your Mamma, nothing is ever going to be the same for you now".
    And he was absolutely right.
Then, in 2020, he, too, passed away.
ALWAYS cherish your parents, ALWAYS treat kindly the people who love you. When they are gone, the loss is insurmountable.

I stayed in a cabin, fairly isolated, up in the North Carolina mountains. At night, the creatures clicking and chirping was almost defining. Once the moonlight hit its highest point, it became completely quiet. I then heard 2 unidentifiable species speaking back and forth, sounding extremely close. This wasn’t a growl or snarl. It was more of a primate sound. I had a brief thought to go outside and take video or photos but I chickened out. I’ve been to that same cabin many times over the years and have yet to hear them again. I do regret not going out that evening and getting some photos

Because you give us the facts, you give us the truth and that enables us to check the facts out (not that I feel the need to fact check your work) your integrity is everything and that’s why you have a village here who support and stick with you, I don’t need to watch channels that do the opposite. We lived in Monroe,Washington from 1989-2003
Hiking Ranier was almost a weekly thing.
We never hiked without a partner. It's very easy to get lost.
My brother and a few of his Navy friends visited and we went to Ranier. Snow on ground and flurries expected.
It was to be a short jaunt of 2 hours. One guy was so fit he was running up steep switchbacks leaving us in dust.
I tried to tell him not to be alone on trail out of sight just for safety as he'd never been there. He said " thanks mom" and took off. When we reach top of lookout, he was nowhere to be found. We called, yelled and ventured a bit further but
Snow was heavier and bad idea so decided to wait a bit. I wore pants, long sleeves, hat, gloves in pack as well as thermal jacket, whistle, etc.
He insisted on shorts and tshirt.
    🙄.
I was worried and furious as we hung out for 30 minutes.
We had decided to head to vehicle and notify ranger when he suddenly comes running down path. He was no longer Mr. Bad ass jovial but rather freaked out looking rather scratched and bloody. He told us he was full on running and didn't realize how near a drop off he was. He tried to stop and slid on ice. Saved himself grabbing a tree but bashed his head against it as it stopped his momentum. He was dazed and hung there for a bit till he could get his brain back. Had a hard time getting foot purchase to get up over top.
I gave my brother the " don't ever brink egotistical dicks with you you again!" He and the other friend gave him hell.
My brother said "next time, listen mom!!"😂😂😂😂😂

We live in a very Rural area, it's miles away from the nearest hospital, or police. If we happen upon someone on the side of the road, we always stop to see if they are okay. We do have people who just disappear out here, some of them have never been found. We tell everyone to always tell someone where they are going, and when to be expected back...sometimes we get backlash, as to why we are all so nosey! I believe it's just being respectful. Thanks for all your wonderful knowledge and great videos. Will share.

I am a hiker and photographer and am willing to bet that it's because we will take extra risk for the moneyshot photo! I will, with all honesty, tell you that on more than one occasion, I saw lights in the woods at night. I even went to try and track them down but never found anything or heard anything. I also regularly had pebbles thrown at me while I was in camp.
A magical mystical place that mountain.

Man those officials did a swell job searching, said nobody in my opinion. Thanks for sharing Chets story. I know more than likely it would be his remains being found after this long but it would be nice for him and all the others to be found and brought home. I read about a guy recently that had went missing in Happy Valley, He was gonna mow but took off on his 4-wheeler. They found his 4-wheeler but never found him. Mike hearon might be his name. But his 4-wheeler the kill switch was hit but the keys were still in the on position. He owned a lot of land but it was found not on his land and somewhere he wouldn't or shouldn't have been. As far as I know that's all they had ever found. No footprints nothing just his 4-wheeler.

I found Dave maybe 4 or 5 yrs ago. Everything about his channel intrigued me. Maybe 2 or 3 yrs ago, I was listening to Dave on Coast to Coast with George. This black guy comes up, and he's super animated. I mean, he really wanted to tell his story. George tried to blow the guy off and discredit him, and Dave jumped in and said "No when ppl go through traumatic things like this, they become VERY excited. He's just remembering what happened." You could hear George was a little annoyed because Dave wanted him to get his story out. I was beyond ticked. It's SUPER rare to hear from a POC. To the point where 1 starts to think, are they just taking 1 group of ppl. How are they skipping over so many varieties of people. The guy sounded a lil bummed out by George, but Dave said no, say what happened. I became a die-hard fan at that moment. Every story has a voice with Dave he didn't discredit this guy or blow him off. He gave him a voice too. I'm not sure why I needed to say this out loud now but 27:40 gave me that push. Rock on Dave keep up the good fight for the truth 🙌🏾

talking about the personal locator beacon brings up questions, how often do they find people with locators that never had a chance to turn them on? and if people are being targeted because they are alone are they also targeted because they do NOT have a locator?

    • @canammissingproject
      @canammissingproject  29 дней назад +5

      Nobody knows that answer.

    • @kaisalis7895
      @kaisalis7895 7 дней назад

Agree with Dave here, nobody really knows. Though I imagine whatever "it" is would not be defeated or dissuaded by a small electronic device you happen to have on your person.
The precautions Dave always mentions(Personal Beacon, Sat Phone, firearm, go with a group, tell people where you're going) are good advice for not going missing in general and everyone should follow them.
Additionally, none of the 411 victims so far have followed all of these, so if you do then statistically you have a pretty good chance of being alright everytime you go out into the wilderness.
Now a theoretical scenario: let's say you do become a 411 victim, but you're one of the lucky ones who comes back alive, perhaps with missing time and amnesia. If you're in a remote area, you'll thank your lucky stars for having had the wherewithal to buy a locator beacon and a sat phone to help you get back to civilization.
I can imagine there may have been cases where victims were "returned" alive but left in an area so remote that they had no chance of survival or escape.
