I have just started rewatching your videos, for inspiration on working on my mainly pre bonsai trees. I hope you restart your channel when you feel ready and able.
Awesome specimen. As always, love your philosophy. I think a lot of artists would either air layer the tree, or remove 80% of the branches and turn it into a literati. That would be a shame, as the current image is unique and natural. The new planting angle is brilliant.
Later as some branches die off or lose their value, I’ll simplify it some and highlight the trunk movement more. A benefit of keeping and styling more branches is that they can easily be converted to deadwood features in the future.
WOW, the height of this tree is impressive, almost unique. So far I didn't have spruces on the plan, but I think in spring I will be looking for possible candidates in the forest...😉
Hi Jared! It's really sad to see this channel abandonned. I really like your content. Please tell us, what's going on so we can understand. Is it over? Or will there be a continuation?
I’d describe it as paused. I’m still doing tons of bonsai stuff. Just not prioritizing documenting at the moment. I’m a one person crew and I also have a day job right now, so to balance my energy I decided to focus on increasing the value of my collection for a bit and let the videos sit. I will upload more in the future. Date TBA.
@@BonsaiEcho Thanks for answering! Yes job and mental health has to be priority. Just know, I will follow you as soon as you continue make new video. Would be nice to have a person to do the documenting stuff and the video editing for you, right? Be safe! Greetings from Germany
Great tree! I wish you made a video showing the tree before/during/after the initial cleanup, too. It looks like there were roots and branches removed prior to this video. Anyway, keep up[ the good work!
That tree is the definition of sexy and elegance! I'm actually leaning towards the taller smooth movement style though I got lots of short trunk chopped material I'm developing. I like how you study the tree. How you check it in 360 view or 3D. Great job!
No idea of the age. It was collected originally and the previous caretaker didn’t specify the age. If I get over to that side of the country, I’d love to have a look!
The goal would be to keep the foliage close to the trunk. I have several years of pushing the growth back closer to the trunk ahead of me to get the slender image at the top that I want. I’d like the upper portion to be half as wide as it is now. Another method is to pull the branches down enough to make it look like a more narrow image. I didn’t want a folded umbrella look with this one though.
Bonsai Echo Nice , yeah I wish I was up north more ... I’d like to go collect from Rockies in US or up in Canada... but at the moment I live in deciduous land... kinda sucks cause I’m into conifers
Glad to see you making videos again. Quality is so good and easy to understand for a dutchy
I’m happy to hear you are still enjoying the videos!

There is an older video scheduled to show up this Friday. Perhaps some new content to follow after that?...
Yaay you're back at it again with the videos! Love it.
I may even do another video before the year ends at this rate. 😏
Looking amazing 👍
I like that its really tall. i also like that you are planning to keep it that way. 👍
It seems fitting for this one.
Definitely need the part 2😉 thanks from Australia
Part two on the way.
Wow...sick tree. It's amazing what a little wire, or in this case shit ton of wire, will do. Huge difference already. Thanks for the info as always.
That is, in fact, the technical term for the amount of wire used on this tree.
@@BonsaiEcho in Europe it would be a metric shit ton.

Agree and like your change of angle with this great bonsai.
ok i love the Cylon shirt. Great video. i love the look of this tree! left a like
It would also make a good Cylon image, but this shirt is of The Boba Fett.
@@BonsaiEcho my bad.. lol your right. now i feel dumb.. lol
Amazing tree mate glad to see you back.
Will you be doing a update/walk through of all your trees
Cheers from down under
I will be doing a seasonal update. Autumn just started in the northern hemisphere. Plenty of interesting things happening right now.

This is my only spruce. I just don’t keep many conifers around. Although, this one is sure growing on me.
an option i saw if you really want to reduce the height would be to airlayer in that break where you would cut and turn into a deadwood feature
That is an option. I don’t plan on reducing the height. It seems fitting to keep the tall image.

There’s always more going on than is shown in videos. It’s easier to get in a flow when the camera isn’t rolling, so I leave quite a bit out.
👏
Your wiring skills are admirable. How long will you be leaving it on for? Thanks
I expect to leave the wire on until I start seeing wire scarring. Most likely a year from now or longer.

This one has legs and knows how to use them.🦵 Follow up vid coming soon.

How old ? Mine is abut 50 years old !! I’m in DC you should come seer it ;)

@@BonsaiEcho let me know if you ever come by !
If I got a tall spruce from a nursery or collected in a yard , how do you get that tall slender appearance

Conifers do appreciate some cooler weather. I have very few conifers even though they really do like it around here. I prefer deciduous.
Bonsai Echo yeah I’m in PA so Theres cold winters lol I’ll have to hit you and kootany Bonsai for a collecting trip
Have you updated your ginko's?
Not yet. Four sprouted really late. Mid to late summer. No others germinated this year. Possibly next year.
@@BonsaiEcho Thanks for the reply. I planted around 20 last year and had 4 sprout. They have barely grown any. I like your videos. :)
