- The 2013 Jeff Gordon #24 Drive to End Hunger CHEVROLET SS is a 2013 NASCAR race car produced by Chevrolet. It only appears in Gran Turismo 6.
In the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, Jeff Gordon won only the season's 33rd race at Martinsville Speedway, and finished 6th in the final standings. Gordon was added to the 2013 Chase for the Sprint Cup (NASCAR's playoffs) under controversial circumstances that season, as he was added as the 13th driver of what was supposed to be a twelve-driver playoff in the aftermath of Michael Waltrip Racing's "Spingate" scheme at that year's Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway, in which Clint Bowyer spun purposely to ensure Martin Truex, Jr. would gain a Chase spot; NASCAR replaced Truex with Stewart-Haas Racing's Ryan Newman in the ensuing penalties issued to MWR.
4 time NASCAR series champion: Jeff Gordon, who has won dramatic victories in quite a few big events, is a superstar that represents the Winston cup era that continued through to 2003.
Up until 1990, the image of stock car race drivers were tough, hardened middle aged men from the South, and NASCAR was dominated by veteran drivers of this type.
The epitome of this stereotype was Dale Earnhardt Senior, the rock solid and unrelenting "intimidator". The youth that came from the west coast and defeated this invincible 7 time champion in a head on battle, was Jeff Gordon.
Gordon was a young handsome Hollywood type, and against the expectation that a younger driver would never stand a chance, he became champion of NASCAR at the age of 23. The youngest winner of the Daytona 500, and tied for the most wins ever (with 13 victories gained in 1998), Gordon has set many new records while winning against hordes of veterans, and is a hero of the new era.
No longer a youth himself, he's now a part of the veteran crowd, but his drive to win has not faded at all. In 2012 he won 2 races to gain 10th place in the yearly rankings, and was the first driver to win in a restrictor plate race.
His great relationship with Rick Hendrick who drew him into the world of NASCAR has not changed, and the legacy of their 87 wins together will never fade.
