I dont think people understand the significance of this Grand finals. These 2 players Saint and JDCR are probably the most evenly matched players to compete against each other. Also, in 2017, these two players dominated the Tekken world. The only player to take then down was the GOAT Qudans. To be honest, Saint and JDCR are probably the biggest reasons that Tekken7 took off like it did.

Honestly, mad props to Saint. Everytime I see his name, I always want to see him win with Ganryu. His Ganryu is so amazing... he adopted it to fight Koreans. What I mean is, most of Ganryu's move is slow... I mean even the jab is slow. And fighting against one of the people with the best reflexes in Tekken (jdcr), it's really amazing he stood a fighting chance.

He said 1- 2 stomps gives better frame advantage (and some respect frame since the opponent may expect the remaining stomps) so better okizeme, he chose that instead of the smaller damaging 2nd and 3rd stomps Unless the 3 stomps kills he rarely does 3

He does it sometimes. but because jdcr used dark upper mostly to whiff punish after a sidestep it became off axis a little bit So uf3 is more consistent instead of cd 1 follow up (there's risk of cd 1 clipped through opponent if the opponent is off axis even in combos) You can see the reasoning in jdcr beginner guide to tekken : combo system video He said "there are some scenarios where lariat switches your opponent angle, so sometimes the same exact combos will not work depending on the position between you and the opponent" I guess he doesnt want to take his chances in big tourneys where 1 combo drop can cost you the match

@@hassansyed5661 you mean float combos? AK can always end his combos with moonsault for an unscaled 20 damage so his low parry and floats can do good damage as well. Also Akuma doesn't count when discussing damage as he has 100dmg+ conversions off of everything.
I don't like putting my opponents in Rage for this very reason. I leave them just right before they can get it and then wait for my opportunity to launch or sweep guaranteeing me a win.

Armor King and King have almost no moves available to punish in the air. The damage is too low as compared to other characters after launcher moves.
What do you mean? Armor King always gets more than 70 damage off of his main launchers.
