Eternally grateful that when I started making dolls as a girl, there was no internet. It was 1977, and I was 12. Being able to define my style and techniques organically was such a gift.

Good point that comparing yourself to others will make you feel inferior! And this applies to everything, like super models compare themselves to other super models etc... This way everybody can feel inadequate.

This is just incredible. Your just amazing artist. I appreciate your channel and love your work especially when you showed us some of your older creations. I just wondered how you afforded and kept your spirits up along with your inspiration’s when you were still in the learning process. Thank you for all your kindness. 🌟💕

Thank you so much! When I was starting out, I used a lot of low cost, recycled materials. As I started to make a little income from my dolls, I put that money back into making more, and built up a collection of tools and materials over time. As for keeping my spirirts up, I think community is important. I had a lot of help and support from doll making groups online. I talk about some of the ways I made dolls on a tight budget as a beginner in this video: ruclips.net/video/DF7-OkVyIfo/видео.htmlsi=0AL5PLwLJe1GXcS8

I was just thinking this advise could totally apply to any art or craft one does when you quoted the other artist and said more or less the same.

Totally! I think most of the advice could apply to any creative art, but the algorithm seems to prefer it when I relate everything to doll making 😆
