My last grow was a 15 gallon pot and it was by far the most productive and the easiest grow I’ve ever done. My next grow it’s going to be a 30 gallon . Everything came out so good that it looked like it was done by a professional, even though I am not

I've gone from a clone into a 12 gals , progressively watered more and more obviously . My logic was that your soil is only light and airy once , and thats when its still dry and never compacted . There is a fine line between making the roots search and them giving up looking , so I watered further and further outwards away from the center to insure the plant was being rewarded for searching .. Worked great grew some monsters , by mid flower I was watering 2 gal every 2 days or less

Lots of really great information ! I always hated growing in small pots because I hate watering all the time . Even with my micro dwarf tomatoes I will plant them in something no smaller than 5 gallons . As I got older I really enjoyed my Back to Eden style of gardening . After several years it's plant it and forget it until harvest . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !

It's funny how when you said you weren't going to smoke at the beginning of the show, my first reaction was to think of Subcool , "time to get high with the weed nerds". Come on man we all smoked with Sub at the beginning of each show. Great to see how you honored his memory . Miss just hanging out and smoking with Sub, so many channels have become classroom like information based rather than relationship based, just hanging out smoking, learning ,and meeting new friends. Glad I felt those old vibes in this show today.,

Pot size is everything, especially for the new grower. It's all related. Pot size relates to plant count (as mentioned), over watering, too much light and nutrients. The plants canopy should be bigger (around) than the circumference of the pot they are in. If you can't push your plants together to form a single canopy, then you're growing dirt and your plant will get too much light. The plants, pushed together as a single canopy, will protect themselves from the light when grown as a single canopy. If each plant is an island in the middle of a sea of dirt, it's every plant for itself. Would you have just that plant under the amount of light you have? If you have small plants in a big pots, imagine those same plants in the appropriate sized pots where you could push the plants together to form a canopy, you would then have to re-evaluate the light because you're taking up less of a foot print and therefore you have less space (Square footage) to light up. You could be using a smaller light to light the canopy instead of a larger light to light up the dirt and cover the space. Feeding, consider this when watering your big pot. Imagine two same sized plants. One plant is in a 1 gallon pot and the other plant is in a 3 gallon pot. You water the 1 gallon pot with 1L of water at 300ppm. Then you water the 3 gallon pot with 3L of water. Are you going to water the 3 gallon pot with 300ppm? Remember it's the same sized plant in both pots. If you water the 3 gallon pot with 3L of water at 300ppm, you just watered the 3 gallon pot with 3x the amount of nutrients then you did in the 1 gallon, for the same sized plant. Volume. It takes 3 times the amount of nutes to get 3 L of water to 300ppm than it does to get 1 L of water to 300ppm. You will have to feed the 3 gallon pot less often at this rate. Consider this when considering the frequency of feeding. FWWWF (Feed Water Water Water Feed). He does touch on a lot of the same points, but I don't know about when he says, "if my soil is hot in one place the roots will look elsewhere" like my mom avoiding spicy food. If the outside of the roots has more salt (ppm) than the inside of plant, the plant will reverse the flow of water from going into the roots to going out of the roots to equalize the ppm on both sides of the membrane. Reverse osmosis. Dehydrating your plant leading to tip burn. (side note: That is actually how the plant opens the stomata on the leaves. The plant will move potassium (k) into the area near the stomata increasing the ppm. Water then rushes in to equalize the ppm, and by doing so the gland fills with water, swells and the stomata opens) When it comes to frequency of watering you should have more dry days (non-watering) than wet (watering)days. If you water one day and have 3 days of none watering and then you water again, that's 2 wet days for 3 dry days. that's good. If you're watering every or every other day (because it actually needs to be watered, not because you want to), then it's time for a bigger pot or else risk overwatering and rotting the roots. The roots like air, not swampy conditions. A big pot with a small plant should be watered way less often, if you can control yourself lol If you're doing a SOG in 1 Gallon pots, it is what it is, you'll be watering everyday at some point. Nothing is absolute and experienced growers can work around these things, but it does give new growers a path to follow. GBA

In my experience growing with a larger pot equals a larger plant at the end of the day. Because indoor artificial lighting drastically reduces in lumens beyond the canopy by the inch, growers tend to use 2 or 3 gallon pots with more plants. This reduces veg time and focuses growth on top canopy sites, eliminating most of the popcorn. With some inventive lighting, it is possible for large indoor plants to become monster yielders

Kyle people make those comments about us. Organic growers because they don't want to put the hard work in amending and building a good living soil and then mixing all that soil up and shoveling it into pots and then taking care of it like a little baby. They lack the motivation And no how., So they lash out at those that are doing it. I got your back, bro.
All they need is 2 piles, a compost pile and a tarp where you dump your old recycle soil and mix away. I'm working on about a year and a 1/2 of recycled soil it's amazing.

Cranked my light up after transplanting, moved other plants out of the tent and the humidifier was struggling to keep up,you could see the original 5 gallon rootball dry out way faster than the rest of the soil in the pot. I been ramping up my waterings the last week because they have been drinking a, lot they are in week 9 of veg,and its the middle of winter and with my light cranked I'm pushing 84 degrees. I dimmed the light a little added an extra humidifier outside the tent, and water each pot about 3 1/2 gallons this time, with a little kelp meal. i just bent the plants under scog screen,so they are a bit stressed but they are putting off a lot of nice light colored new growth. I run 3 gallon fabric pots because of limited height on my plants. I would love to run 10 or 15 gallons but I’ll never have plants tall enough to fill it with roots.

You could if you veg for say 8 weeks and top the plants and get a trellis / scrog net on the go to keep tucking the branches

Minnesota has been called the California of the mid-west but now that cannabis is become fully available to the adult public it really doesnt feel like it comparatively all the taxes and supposed freedoms. but Ive already been accused of growing two much my first ever plant "bubba kush" looked like four plants apparently, at least that's what the cop that was sent to my house told me. that he was sent here without a warrant or anything and i was amenable and let him do his check which he agreed was as pointless as i said it would be, we laughed he left but i started thinking this all came from being happy and showing the wrong person my first plant that i was so happy of because top me it is my medication and my meditation. i feel like violated and without privacy as i struggle to establish a way to grow my own medication

I didnt water them for 4 Days in 8 gallon pots (2. week of flower). They looked like they are dead 💀. Only a few oures of watering 4 Liters they was full recovered. Do you think the buds will be smaler becouse of that under watering?

3-5 gallon pots you don’t need to water every day if u did it would cause root rot. Now in the first 2-4 weeks you usually do water every day but after that it’s every 2-3 days
