    What about using a boxcutter or razor to cut the shapes out? Would that be better/more precise than scissors?

    Thanks, Sam! This was very helpful for making puppets! I'm going to make a RUclips show about a puppet, so I may give some credit to you for the layout instructions :)

    good idea to speed up the video and do commentary after. So much better watching a 3 min video than a 10 minute one.

    Will be making my first puppet from scratch and wonder if you could tell me what is the most common diameter of a puppet head or of the one you just made? Thanks. Great video:-)

    • @SamPattersonEdD
      @SamPattersonEdD  7 лет назад

      most recent build measures about 7 inches ear to ear and 8 inches nose to back of head. Share a link when you are done, would love to see what you build.

      Thank you so much for the info. I bought a styrofoam ball 18" in diameter to use for making the pattern from, so that sounds about right. It will take me a while, but, yes, I will definitely post a link when Wanda is "born". Thanks again:-)

    Quick question please. What percentage did you enlarge the pattern? (I found it on google search) I can't seem to get it the right size and shape.

    • @SamPattersonEdD
      @SamPattersonEdD  9 лет назад

      S White depends on size it printed out. I fit it to an 8.5 x 11 inch paper. So I took the orginal long measure ment and devided 11 by it. This gave me the amoung to increase, using the same number for the short side.

      his looks like the "Round Head Pattern" that was posted online by Mike Moore many years ago (or at least a variant of it). You can find a copy online blog Puppetvision. Just Google the site and then look for "Resources > Puppet Patterns" in the top menu.
