Honestly, I don’t say this too often, but I might actually watch this in the original Chinese audio. It’s a little bit different from watching anime in Japanese and I don’t really think the lips will sync quite well with an American audio take on it. I just hope they release both versions in the west.
As spanish that often saw american movies with subtittles until learnt english, original language is always worth. You really should. Often you even get to learn the language ;)

Dude I got chills watching this. This animation looks so awesome and the story seems amazing. I don't want to rag on other things to hype this one up, but I have to say this looks more compelling than American animations I've watched in recent years. Asian media never ceases to impress me with their deeper meanings, attention to detail and amazing storytelling.
That's not ragging but truth! I just finished watching and omg this was beautiful!!! It does blow all the American stuff out of the water....easily! If you've not seen it I have a suggestion for you....Big fish and begonia....another amazing Chinese production that will rock you to the core!

After seeing it I ordered a poster of some artwork from the movie and framed it. And there's a hardcover artbook out there, only in Chinese....but haven't found a good and affordable copy yet....one day! I just loved this movie. When I saw it my son had female visit and was in his room, so I watched the movie on my own. At the very end he came in to get some drinks, looked at me and said 'That movie got to you right''? And yeah....it sure did and then some. Told him to really watch it. No spoilers......go see it! 🙂 I watch a lot of Anime, really great things out there...Ghibli of course. And not only action stuff.....there's lots of good 'drama' things out there....everything by director Makoto Shinkai for example. I pointed out Big fish and begonia because like White Snake it is Chinese.....and that's more rare being an animation. But I hope they make lots more if this is what they can offer.....just wow. Another thing by the way that blew me away was a song in the end credits.....first watch the movie, including end credits....and then look up Zhou Shen/Big fish and begonia...there's a video with a Voice of China contestant....amazing! But do it after you have seen the movie! 🙂 Two more Chinese 3D animated movies are 'Ne Zha' and 'Jiang Ziya'....separate movies but set in the same universe. White dragon got a sequel last year.

The white snake 1 movie is very beautiful and a very sensitive movie, and the behavior of the boy in the first one is touching. For me, the 1st movie is the most beautiful of these two movies.
Oof. The difference is actually astronomical. As fluffy and wholesome Red Shoes and the 7 dwarves is, this one has a more quick-paced action and sensual theme or vibes because of the OG language and tone (not SEXual). Edit: but you know, I kinda felt like Xuhan (the male protagonist) has the same vibes as Merlin. Even if the latter is a playboy and the former is more of a carefree boy next door.
I have never been to theaters in my life before. But I will totally buy this on Blu-ray/DVD! I gotta thank and support the team who let this movie come overseas!

Guys! This was a good movie, the animation was soo beautiful and so fluid! There could have been more explanations for things that were happening in the movie as I felt it did move a bit fast but would be totally interested if you guys made a sequel :3
This was mainly made for the chinese audience, who already know what the story is about. It's a retelling of a folk story. It's just that it is a bonus that other people from all over the world are interested too.
I saw green snake (second movie) first, on Netflix or HBO I think? And then later found this one. Both movies are soooo good! And Beautifully animated. I wish I could experience them for the first time again.

From my more than over 20 years of japanimation anime dubs in English dubs it's always good to hear it in a good American English dub it depends on who is dubbing it could be really good in English especially if that's your first language

This was a great movie, but a horrible trailer. It commits the cardinal sin of summarizing too much of the plot such that it takes away from watching the movie. Really is worth seeing the movie though, surprisingly good.
I've got this on dvd/bluray for my birthday and loved it. Now I want to know when the second one, "White Snake 2: Tribulation of the Green Snake" or as it is on Netflix just "Green Snake" is coming out on dvd/bluray too so I can have them both together.

My favorite scene is when Xuan first discovers Blanca as a snake in the city and the first minute and a half of this video before the black thing hit Blanca. This movie is one of my favorite movies. I saw the trailer of this movie and I was like I have to see this movie. It was worth the money to buy the movie. Movies that have giant snakes and mythology creatures like dragons are my favorite kind of fantasy movies.

Oof. The difference is actually astronomical. As fluffy and wholesome Red Shoes and the 7 dwarves is, this one has a more quick-paced action and sensual theme or vibes because of the OG language and tone (not SEXual).
Edit: but you know, I kinda felt like Xuhan (the male protagonist) has the same vibes as Merlin. Even if the latter is a playboy and the former is more of a carefree boy next door.

Guys! This was a good movie, the animation was soo beautiful and so fluid! There could have been more explanations for things that were happening in the movie as I felt it did move a bit fast but would be totally interested if you guys made a sequel :3
This was mainly made for the chinese audience, who already know what the story is about. It's a retelling of a folk story. It's just that it is a bonus that other people from all over the world are interested too.

This was a great movie, but a horrible trailer. It commits the cardinal sin of summarizing too much of the plot such that it takes away from watching the movie. Really is worth seeing the movie though, surprisingly good.

My favorite scene is when Xuan first discovers Blanca as a snake in the city and the first minute and a half of this video before the black thing hit Blanca. This movie is one of my favorite movies. I saw the trailer of this movie and I was like I have to see this movie. It was worth the money to buy the movie. Movies that have giant snakes and mythology creatures like dragons are my favorite kind of fantasy movies.
