If you need free viking folk sound samples for your compositions, you can check my video "Free Nordic Folk Samples!" for a download link. It's a collection of wav files of different folk instruments that I have recorded.
This feels like real information wrapped in satire lol I love it
Thank you!
I personally think it is one of the most difficult genres to compose. First, because there are very few virtual instruments available. And even if there are, they will never sound like a real one, not even close. I bought a tagelharpa for this purpose and some shaman drums and I am still learning how to use them properly. I have been with this type of music for four years but I am still a learner. With all this I encourage people to release their creations even though they think they are not good enough. Don't keep your music for yourself. Surely someone will like what you have done! Skol!
Skol!
Speaking of instruments, I just uploaded a free collection of samples from some of my instruments. You can find a download link in the description of my newest video if you want to check them out!
Danheim made a decent sampler instrument called asgard I think... has some useful instruments on there such as tagelharpa drones and LOTS of percussion instruments such as pinecone, bones, axe and shield clangs and other items they would have used back like 1,300 years ago... costs £130ish though and some of the instruments do sound synthesised so it's not all amazing... I'd give it a solid 6 or 7 out of 10
I have Dark Era and Damage sound libraries and I think they sound fantastic. I mainly use them for backing tracks while playing an acoustic fiddle over it.
Check out Merkaba’s music, a lot trickier to replicate!
So funny because it's so true! It's pretty much how we make our tunes...
i like how there's a picture of obi won at 4:10
i can't find
P.S did you do some cover in your viking folk example?
Journey to the East can be found on my channel. The viking folk song is an original song by me. Thanks for watching!

Great advices! I'm a huge fan of Nordic mythology and runes. Love bands like Wardruna, Heilung, Skald etc... Listening to Nordic meditation music. I'm also a metal head and have listened to black, death, heavy etc... I compose music, mostly metal, and it's been a few weeks I try to compose Nordic music but I didn't really know where to start. Your video is very helpful and your music is great! Tusen takk. Skål 🎼🎶🤟🏻
Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful!!
The humour makes it easier to learn, thank you!
