Oh I remember Pete from my days living in southern Palm Beach county must be over 15 years ago. Bought jackfruit lychee and Valencia Pride mangoes from his wife. Really nice people they are.
Thank you Paul. You asked plenty of good questions. I have about a dozen lychee seedlings growing right now so this video was very helpful 🙏
I like Pete. A man of knowledge.
I like the fact that he an honest man.
I love these so much. I used to get a bag on the way to beach. Miss them both!
Pete is amazing, Thanks for all the knowledge Pete!
Great information. I picked up some Lychees other day they didn’t last 24 hours in my house. So good 😋
He’s got a a dream orchard
Pete's a good guy.
I live in the Bahamas I have 3 lychee trees one had lychee once 2 years ago and it never bear lychee again.
Wish he explained the lychee tree nutrient requirements better. Beautiful lychee orchard!Am growing a Brewster in a container in Orlando and hoping for the best.
You should have good luck. I live in Orlando as well and have a hak-ip, brewster, and Mauritius, all being young(3'). I have already fruited the Hak-ip and Mauritius, with the Mauritius being the smallest of the 3(got about 20 fruits on it 2 weeks ago). They do well here
@@alexmurphy4040thanks for sharing. which one tastes the best ?
@@pnww9 haven't tasted brewster yet, but I like Mauritius better than Hak ip
How old is this guy? He looks so healthy. Is this in West Palm Beach?
I would like to know what kind of nutrients he uses?
Seen a few of them growing in Arkansas at a free canpground. Not sure if they took the winter blast in 2022 though.😢
Have a beautiful lychee tree where I live, its been a good 12 years growing and has never bore fruit?
Can Lychee be grown from seed? Or should I only buy the air layering plant?
I’d love to come intern at Pete’s place. I have been studying gardening for about a year… I suck at it. I have a little backyard & am growing staple foods like lettuce tomatoes grapefruit etc. but I’m trying to learn to grow pineapples lychees peaches etc. but I can’t keep them alive & I may be learning wrong… I’d like to learn from experience & a teacher instead of from a book or online. But I can’t find anyone who knows anything. Maybe Pete would let me camp out in his lychee fields & I can help him out & learn from him how to grow these fruit trees. I just want to learn how to grow my own foods. I suck at it.
Monocrops always have problems. We have some lychee trees in amongst thousands of other fruits , plants etc and we get plenty of lychee’s. Actually started eating them yesterday.
Everyone I know in our area calls them Lie-chee not Lee-chee.
Good information
Can you prune them to stay shorter??
yes but you will get less fruit
what is a lee chay?
I have plenty of bees here in California.
Thank you both for this! It might be helpful to list the nutrients he is using. As for pronunciation, in Mandarin it's pronounced lee chee. In Cantonese its lie tsee. I'd stick with Mandarin, which most American authorities like this man use.❤
what sort of nutrient please
33.8k..Very nice work...I have subs
Pronounce Lie chee not lee chee but I don’t know how Chinese pronounce plus growing conditions and varieties are different in austrailia
In South Africa, lychee is spelt and said as litchi so its probably litchi😅
Here litchi is a tomato
Li Zhi is the original spelling in Chinese.
What nutrients he uses?
I would like to know that too!
I think he use D-vitamins. He needs more sun 😂😂😂😂
his contact info is in the description you can ask him what exactly he uses.
Lychee can grow and produce as far as poinciana.
Lychee is a new fruit for me so I do not know what fruit it is.
(Lee-chee) and (Chee-nah) is how you pronounce lychee and Cheena
He hears the grower say, "Lee-Chee," and he keeps saying, "Lee-Chay!" Must be the Brooklyn accent?
Oh it’s pronounced “Lai Chee” actually
The Y in Lychee is long.
his facebook link isnt working
I just clicked it it is fine
@@FruitfulTrees Must be an issue on my end thanks
I have a Marisha & an Emperor
My lychee shrub failed to give any fruit this year. 2022 was the first year of fruiting, and we got a good 15-20 kgs.
Nothing in 2023, and only half kg this year.
What plant food are you using
it NOT Lee-chay!
So irritating to hear lychee mispronounced. Lychee comes from china and is pronounced Lychee.
I have another interview coming out and the person say in China they say it two ways
@@FruitfulTrees i say it one way, yummmeeee 😂
You must be easily irritated.
That's not the real name.
They don't originate in China. @@FruitfulTrees
really?lychee come from my hometown GuangDong China,we have lychee trees everywhere.I think I know lychee much better than him😊
Please make a video.
Please tell me what to use on my lychee trees. I live in the Bahamas. I have 3 trees.
Can you trim them into smaller bushes?
@@CC-uq4hu they can fruit when it's small through air layering ,but will still grow tall later
@@donnastubbs217 dont let them grow new leaf in November and December, then they wil bloom in the spring
