this is def my fav album from her. the message. the lyrics. the vocals. the melodies. the MOVIE she wrote and produced herself. just woah- she talented asf and this k-12 era in particular was the one i liked the most, but thats just my opinion. hope you enjoy yourself!

People love to pick favorites from her discography because each album is different but still is Melanie. This album is the most cleanly produced and classic pop sounding album. This album is kinda iconic in actuality. My only gripe of the music videos is that class fight gets chopped up when in actuality it’s a fucking bop.
For the next one “Class Fight” do the lyric video since the music video cuts out the song a lot.
Also, she talks about deep topics, it’s probably better to watch the lyric video so the video isn’t distracting lol
These music videos are taken from the K-12 movie, so to watch them react to the movie, for the audio I recommend watching lyric videos.

So with most Melanie songs there’s multiple layers. There’s the context of what’s happening in crybaby’s world and life and then also context of the real world. In the real world this song really breaks down a persons into to LA and Hollywood life and celebrity culture. Almost like the bus is a plane full of celebs and we are people watching. I know the driver sees it I know he’s peeking. Kinda feels like when 2 actors playing love interest start dating and the higher ups manipulate the media to capitalize on that relationship . The 2 guys snorting the “glue”, the normalization of open weed consumption in la, the guy pushing aside cry baby for someone with a higher status. It all is double meaning in a way.

I hope you react to the k-12 movie after watching all the mv's down the list. It's so good and it gives you a lot of context into the scenes in the MV's of k-12 and the movie covers pretty heavy topics just as her songs do. She wrote and produced herself and was super involved with the costumes, hairstyles, directing, etc.
I’d suggest not looking at the last music video in this album for Recess, just because there is talking that may distract from the song
K-12 is a vibe. It isn't my favorite by her but that is just my personal preference. This song is actually to be taken at face value. They are all on the bus to the delinquent school & she is just talking about the things that happen around her. There ain't much other than that!
