Now this is a true funk cover! I love most of the covers, sometimes the funk is on the outer ends of the funk spectrum. This one is 99% funky stuff and 1% jazz ;-)
Yeah it seems they're usually stretching hard labeling their covers as "funk"
only sometimes, and there's always funk in it, as funk is a spectrum... but yeah, this one is just quite stereotypical and also just so well done!
With PMJ on summer hiatus, Scary Pockets is destined to be, this summers RUclips ... SENSATION.

PMJ is really good, but since I've discovered Scary Pockets, PMJ is playing "second fiddle" (to use a musical expression) in my listening habits!

I agree... Scary Pockets has a real sense of electricity, excitement and raw virtuoso musicianship that you don't get from PMJ.
I basically just smile all the way through every cut guys. Awesome vocal! We live outside Aberdeen Wa where Cobain grew up. The sign on the border of the town says, “Aberdeen, Washington. Come As You Are.”

HOLY CRAP! I was on vacation when this came out, so I'm just getting to it now. But, wow. Just freaking wow. I love what's done with the vocal line on the "memoria" piece. Captures the feel/intent of the original while sliding effortlessly into the Scary Pockets sound.
