What a chase.
I'm so happy and grateful to have been able to watch this match. The movements of player Oh 8;10 were incredibly agile and powerful.
OH is from another world. Genious, Monster, Terminator !!
And baby face❤
Oh has a very strong mentality. Coming back behind from 7 points at one time in the major final is proving that. He will be the next Olympic champion.
I hope so, I will be rooting for him!
that didnt age well
@@samehawad6821 what are you talking about, his team just won gold at the Olympics
@@18carolynmoore yea but he didn't win as individual
He didnt win, im from the future
Szatmari: *closes break at 8-4 against Oh*
Oh: "you have forced me to use more than 10% of my power"
It's OHRGY TIME!
ye it felt like oh was js joking around then he put his game on
Szatmari: "OH S"
I am so proud of Oh Sang Uk. He is the best!!
I thank the players for giving me a very exciting game.
May the blessings of the two players lie ahead
Korea is very proud of you Oh👍
Honestly, I already expected Oh to win this year's championships.
This is the first time in a very long time that the obvious person has won.
So much for unbiased commentary.
Doesn't even bother nor care to pronounce his name right, "gu", "guk" "oh sang guk". So unprofessional and pathetic.
No.1 in the world 👍
Oh is good looking too
Wow!! Oh
This one is for the books!
Great match, awesome outcome, both fenced very well. Throughout this competition I have noticed some fencers "rocking" on the en garde line and the referee should have both fencers still before "Alle!". I have noticed a few fencers who are not totally still at the line which has potential implications to the bout. This is a relatively new trend.
As so often - it's the momentum at the start of the second period that decides the bout.
"if you're new to sabre" c'mon FIE commentators, as if anyone new to fencing is going to be watching fencing world championships
"If you're new to tennis..."
I'm watching specifically because I love fighting with light sabers... And JKD
I fence Epee and I'm wilding out here
I actually appreciated him clarifying, but just because I'm new
I'm new, was hoping for actual sabers though. Guess it'll have to be wu shu choreography or something.
Man vs Superman
Very good players for both
such a stressful match
Wow
Yuh.
Not taking away from his skills, but it's pretty obvious that Oh's incredibly long lunge is the game changer. He consistently hits opponents with direct or indirect attacks who think they've pulled enough distance. If they try to pull more, Oh sees them prepping to get back and doesn't lunge immediately.
There's plenty on the circuit who are taller and have longer reach than Oh Sanguk. His lunge is skill, not chance.
@@sydneysabrecentre , sure. But tall fencers are not as mobile, not as quick as the short, compact guys. Oh has the advantages of the mobility of a smaller guy, plus the long lunge. Dangerous combination, would you agree?
@@donaldbadowski290 Whereas you aren't wrong, and it does have a factor in the functionality in his lunge. Anyone can lunge though, big or small. At higher levels of martial arts (based solely on my own and masters' experiences he's shared) things like that tend not to matter as much, think about it this way: Do you prepare for a fight with anyone or do you specifically train against lil dudes or massive beasts? It's a matter of how someone fights you, not who (in my opinion)
@@donaldbadowski290 You're making this sound like it's a bad thing, and I'm really not sure why.
@@sydneysabrecentre , I'm not saying Bad Thing at all, nor am I implying it. Oh's got something that works for him, that he's been using for years and getting better at it year after year. Defenders want to get away, but if they leave too soon Oh can extend his attack. Nothing new there. But when the defender says too long, Oh's long lunge, direct or indirect, catches them being a little too close. That's all. I admire his skills. In fact I admire all the Korean Men's Sabre team.

I’m sorry which type of blade is this again?
I think it was Sabre but I’m really not sure
Says right there in the title, my dude.
