It was over 20 years ago when I had babies, but I remember those gown sleepers being a godsend in the middle of the night when changing diapers. No snaps or buttons, just lift it change, and pull it back down. My babies also rarely wore pants unless we left the house lol!

This is the BEST way to get kids clothes. At least 75% of my kids clothes (and mine 😂) have been thrifted up to this point.
Also, buy “gender neutral” when you can. I bought “neutral” boots, coats, some shoes, hats, gloves for my daughter and now her brother can wear them. And it’s much easier to pass them on to other people if they aren’t “girly” or “boyish”

Hey Lisa! Reused baby clothes are the best! My girl is 18 months old now, but over her first couple months we wore lots of sleepers! Goodwill and thrift stores have super good deals. Also every Black Friday, Carters has great deals! Even Walmart has great baby clothes! Baby gowns are the best for newborns!

Infant teacher here! 👋🏻 the little babies mostly come in in those onesie/sleeper outfits. When they get a little older it transitions into more of a onesie & pants situation. The sleepers with the double zipper on the top and bottom are so nice for diaper changing too! Hope thats helpful 😊

Lisa, I'm so happy Corny is feeling some better I just love her and she has been on my mind.
Don't get rid of the little gowns that's open at the bottom they are wonderful at night or when you are just staying in so easy to change at night without them getting to fussy also I know mine loved being able to feel free with their little legs kicking plus mine loved their feet being bare lol this is from a granny now . Also the clothes with stains if not to bad hold on to them they come in handy when feeding or playing on floor when you don't want to put fancy things on them believe me it saves the clothes you might want to keep or for going out somewhere baby food stains a lot of that isn't coming out of their clothes. I think the thing you held up wanting to know what it was if I'm not mistaken it goes in the car seat to help with the head from side to side it looked something like the one I had years ago if it has slots for the belt that's what it is .
I would love to see your closet makeover anything you show is is always great. Sending Blessings and love to you Jeff and Corny please keep us updated and give her a hug from me please ❤

As a human with pancreatic Disease I can only imagine how it feels to not be able to express the discomfort. Poor baby . The food thing is huge because just one portion of the wrong food can put you in a tail spin for days. The New food will probably be so so great for her !!!
BTW I got your book !!! Oh I can't wait to read it this summer. I'm an og watcher. Love you guys !!!! Love all the baby clothes . Always buy out of season and put it away for the baby . Clearance is so huge and you can store it away until baby girl is in that size .

Just some suggestions from a mama of five😊-
-Separate by sizes and only keep on hand newborn & 0-3 month
    - put the other batches of sizes in storage bags or tubs. Maybe even those vacuum bags that compress.
    - keep them on back up in your storage room or maybe your mom can keep for you at her house? You will fly through those sizes in the first year especially. It will be a godsend as she grows so you don't have to spend on new stuff.
I found onesies, sleepsacks/PJs, swaddles, spit up rags/bibs are the most indispensable. The cutsie stuff will probably be outgrown before you get to it unless you just put her in them for pictures😂. With the first baby you are so nervous to be around alot of people or go out too much so those cute smaller size outfits don't get used alot.
Hope this helps a bit!🥴😊 And get some rest💗

We loved the sleep gowns that were open at the bottom, especially when newborn because they have their legs curled up making regular sleepers harder. They are also such a game changer in the middle of the night for quick diaper changes. I wanna say we probably had at least 10 of them.

The happiest baby sleep sacks are my personal favorite! They’re the only ones my boys liked. And I feel like we kept the babies in two way zipper sleepers for the first few months. We hated any sleepers that were all buttons, the double zip is definitely the way to go in our opinion!
And I’m pretty sure that’s a newborn insert for a swing or stroller.

You definitely should set up a diaper/takeout dinner fund of some sort. It’s going to be so hard to continue cooking and making sure you and Jeff are having a well balanced diet when you’re also caring for a newborn. If you don’t take care of yourselves, you won’t be able to be the best for the baby! ❤

Pjs and rompers are the only things my baby was in throughout the summer, as I had my son in summer as well. Anything that is super quick and easy to be able to change them. The extravagant and fancy outfits are super cute in theory but not practical so I found myself feeling guilty for those kinds of outfits that I would be gifted and rarely (if at all) end up using. You are absolutely glowing in this video Lisa! Love to see it!

i know i’m a bit late but keep as much as you can!! you will be changing her clothes very frequently, and sometimes laundry day will escape you on top of everything you’ll have on your plate as a mom. in my experience it is really nice to have way too many clothes so in a pinch i could just keep pulling from their drawers after changing an explosive diaper, cleaning up after a meal, etc. it also came in handy to pack extra outfits when we went out and i was sure i still had clean clothes at home. luckily their clothes are so small too that laundry/folding day doesn’t feel as overwhelming as it could :’)

Just sleepers. I think for the first 6 months we basically only dressed her in sleepers lol. The double zipper footie sleepers are best for diaper changes. The sleep sacks helped a lot, because we struggled with doing the wrap. We got a lot of "receiving" blankets, but she didn't end up spitting up or having many accidents so we didn't use them all. I tried a few baby carriers and I REALLY wanted to like one of them, but I couldn't make it work for me. I'd recommend finding a good one, though, because they are suuuper helpful. Bibs !! We got some that fit at 3 months but were quite big, but it's okay because we still use them for meal time at 1.5 years. Few sets of bassinet + crib sheets, because accidents happen. Baby cloths. You can definitely use your bigger ones, but I found the baby ones soft and the right size, and again, we still use them at 1.5 years. As cute as shoes are, and they are cute, they have very little use until the baby starts walking or playing outside, and she will grow A LOT in a year.

I was a nanny for almost 7 years and both newborns I took care of wore a lot of regular onesies and sleepers. I don’t think outfits are generally necessary, especially if you don’t plan on going out to events for the first 3 months. Of course the little outfits are so cute so you should definitely get a couple. But onesies and sleepers all day!

I never put clothes on my registry because I didn’t want people to have to sift through SO much to find the items you really needed. If they buy you clothes, I’m sure they’d want to pick them out, buy what they think is cute or what’s on sale. If there’s a specific item or brand, like with sleep suits, sure add it!

Clothing suggestions. Honestly, babies only wear onesies and pants (if they are winter babies) the first handful of months. Then again, I had a boy so I didn't have frilly dresses and other "pretty" things to pick from.
The velcro swaddlers were a godsend! For months, it was the only way my boy would sleep. I would highly recommend those.

Hi Lisa! I had my girl in September 22, so almost a year before your baby is due! ☺️ The first couple months she wore onsies with pants and romper style outfits (I like the Cat and Jack brand!) The knot gowns we only used a few times on days we were staying in because you can’t really buckle into a car seat with them.
We also switched to Esembly cloth diapers around 2 months, and that’s been something I have enjoyed with her! It’s not as gross as I thought it would be and their system is really straightforward! :)

We were gifted sooo much clothes in the first year and my daughter wore mostly hand-me-downs. All of the new clothes was not the right size for the season or it just wasn't "my style" (too naked or too grown). We live in Arizona so onesies for most days. 😅

We have a 3month old and between hand me downs and gifts, we are lucky that we haven’t really needed to buy any clothes! We just bought one or two outfits that we really loved and some extra basics (short and long sleeved vests and onesies) Newborns really don’t need much, ours just lived in onesies and vests for the first few weeks, and then she was into the next size already! A lot of cute outfits went totally unworn as they were just too fiddly to take on and off.
We had about 10-15 of both onesies and vests in newborn size and 0-3 size and that was plenty for us for the first 3 months.
I know you mentioned being limited on space but with hand me downs I kept everything I thought I didn’t want in storage before donating and have definitely dipped into that stash and became less picky about what I wanted once she was here!
Definitely would like to see you transform a section of your closet for baby!

As far as clothes to put on your registry I would keep it pretty minimal. Only add clothing if it’s something you really want to ensure that you have because yeah people will give you an insane amount of clothes. You’re probably safe buying any clothes that you still need. If you shop sales (which I know you will) GAP and Carters are very high quality stuff. In my experience it has lasted the longest and been worth the money. For more affordable stuff, Walmart honestly has REALLY cute stuff and it’s like $3-$15 a piece! Also personally, the Burt’s Bees sleepers are so soft and nice but they are very slim, my baby was always way too chunky for them lol!!

  • @carolinaolivera7386
    @carolinaolivera7386 Год назад

Footie pjs with zippers instead of buttons and built in mittens, bodies and little pants and rompers are a must have, my summer baby lived in this the first months. Also buy a couple of sizes up, might be a little baggy at first but it will last her longer and avoid the expense of buying a whole new wardrobe every time she switches sizes. My girl is 18 months and we barely had to buy her new clothes since she was born. People love to gift new and second-hand clothes too, so in my experience you will mostly be set up in clothes for the first 2 years!

I ended up putting my newborn in onesies or sleeper/play suits pretty much daily. All the cutesy dainty outfits were too much work, and when dealing with blowouts and spit up, were not worth it lol it was best to keep it simple in those first 4ish months.

  • @lainabobaina3203

Whenever I buy clothes for a baby shower I try to buy 9 month or larger. How often do you see just 9 month old clothes? It’s a size that doesn’t get purchased as much. (You’ll get WAY too many 0-3 month stuff. It’s a guessing game on when they’ll grow into the larger stuff but that makes it a fun game for the gift giver. (Or sheer hell…take your pick) my suggestion about the hand-me-downs…keep the ones you like along with the ones you aren’t sure about. You’ll surprise yourself in what you’ll need and use. Next…you are ready to give away 3T. My grandson was in that size for tops between 1 - 1 1/2. 3T does NOT mean 3 years old necessarily. The babies all grow at their own pace.

A size that I always bought with my babies is premie. Newborn babies are typically too small even for newborn size. My babies were over 9 pounds and newborn size was STILL too big, so I would always pick up premie sizes. They fit so much better. Especially with sleepers with feet. I hope no one is offended by that but it’s just something I’ve learned with my babies. My babies are now 31, 28, 25 and 19. Enjoy this little one because time just flies……❤

My tip is maybe don’t hold on to many newborn but mostly 0-3 months! My daughter was born on her due date and was already 9.9lb and wouldn’t fit any newborn. Strictly 0-3 months from birth and size 1 diapers rather than newborn diapers

You should have a 3D ultrasound so you can see the baby's face.

You could ask anyone who wants to give a gift to you for your baby to donate to local women’s shelters or other charities for babies and children in need. ❤

If she is a girl, it's OK to dress her like a girl. I dressed mine with a cute dress and tights, all stretchy and comfortable. They also have onsies with ruffles on the butt.
