santiago seemingly gave the first impression that he'd have an easier time starting to get things going, but gunnar appeared to adapt better in the second min on. i wouldnt have necesarily guessed gunnar to have had as much success with his takedown in round 2 nor his striking success in round 3. he did have something of an impressively swift shot in round 1.
Gunnar is too cautious, he's talented but I feel there were moments he could have lit that other dude up and finished him but then he just either stands back or ties up and tries to get the takedown
well thats his MO for finishing fights. He doesnt go to the ground just to be in top position. he wants u rocked standing so he easier can take u down and submit u. I guess thats why he ties up with u when rocked. But yea hes too cautious i can agree with that.
Would have liked to see Gunnie get a KO or submission. Santiago was throwing lots of slow wild punches in the 3rd round and Gunnie did not take advantage of this.
I dont know guys. How do you think he does against rory? I wanna see Gunnar succeed but I feel like everybody is talking about a fight between him and rory and its too early. Give Gunnar some more time to develop his striking and then I think he has a good shot at Gunning for gold
I see a chessmatch between him and rory. Think rory will win becuase gunnar doesnt throw much defensive jabs or faints.he needs to implement that and he would absolute lethal for any fighter. its the defensive punches kicks to keep the distance and faints to make his transitions to takedowns easier. he also needs a Little more volume on the standing strikes, not much but a few more punches and kicks each round. If he gets this he will be unstoppable and just rory would be his hardest fight. thats my thought on this. As for now rory would win.
What a waste of talent. He had Santiago out standing in the third then goes for a takedown. Very gsp'ish. And you heard his corner tell him to hang out in half guard. Hopefully he learns to finish. Probably could use a better corner.
Jonathan Doe Becuase thats his style of fighting. Rocking u standing and going to the ground for the finish. This time he didnt get it but very few can be on the ground with nelson without getting subbed.
Btw we should throw cerrone in this category of fighters for whatever reason abandon a given finish after his should-have-been-a-finish fight vs alvarez. I think he just felt sorry for him and took him down when he could have easily taken his legs out completely for a verbal sub or something. Cowboy like gunner are awesome fighters but fights like these get you kicked out of cobra kai. No mercy!
THANKYOU!
This is the 1 fight i never found with gunnar in it, but i always knew it was out there :P
wait.. i've seen this one.. i'm too high
The name "Gunnar" is a Nordic name of old Norse (viking) origin, it means warrior. Quite a fitting name for this guy.
yeah
yes iam in the futur
Gunnar is an amazing talent...no holes in his game besides more ring experience. Future champ at 170 or 155.
Hes making his comeback fight tomorrow
He fights a lot like conner mcgregor just with less head movement
No he doesn’t lmao
they were training partners for a really long time. Thats where they both upped each others game both BJJ and striking.
Love this guy!
gunni is the man!
gunnar looked good in this fight. but he doesnt need to take all those shots. especially that one at the end. but im sure he is improving on that.
As an EVE player, the huge DUST logo on Gunni's ass still makes me smile.

I totally agree with you, but still would love and even pay for to see that fight!

So then why didn't he finish this one then? Sh**** gladiator. Should be fed to the tigers after that one.
