@@exynex9441 he's probably coded as a nexu protected by the fountain tower,. With the fountain that can't be destroyed you can't attack the nexus. I'm gonna take a wild guess. The shop is coded as a unit, so essentially a minion. Normally untargetable, but somehow the script can target it and thus kill it. Once it's dead, the proximity check, that usually looks whether you're close enough to the base/shop, stops working as there is no reference unit anymore that is usually used to see whether you're in base or not. That's likely there because your unit is not immediately returned to base when dead but they still want you to be able to access shop whenever you're dead.. But I might be completely wrong, so if I am, be sure to tell me.
So when coding, I know that if you need something to be interactable, it's common that you copy and paste, so maybe the shop is copy and pasted as a turret. So what I am suspecting is going on here is that they took the code from the turret so you could click on it to 'acknowledge' that it's a targetable sprite(like how you can see a turrets armor and hp in the top left when you click on it), but they didn't take off the hp or 'destroyed' animation. They should fix this exploit by having the shop keeper respawn, but unlimited range agro, so it chases anyone who attacked them around the map. Of course with all of the combined stats for the all of the items that they could possibly sell. Oh and of course anyone on the friendly team could still shop both at the base or wherever they have chased the offending enemies to.
Any object on the map is a building and has a health. You just need to find a way to deal damage to it. For example, in Dota, you used to be able to destroy the enemy team's fountain. That thing that does damage and heals everyone. And it wasn't done with bugs or scripts. No, you just took a character who had passive ability to infinitely increase damage on the target with every next attack and statchecked the enemy fountain. Nice to see the League almost developed to that level too. I think a couple more years and we'll get a character who can destroy the fountain.
I mean, there was a bug where Neeko could transform into the fountain. And that's seems only possible if the fountain is indeed a building/minion/unit.

+50 gold and the animations tells me that the shopkeeper is coded as a nexus (or inherits the nexus object). Which means that inside of the nexus object or struct there is a tag probably called "clickable" and one probably called something like "destructible", which opens up a whole new world of possibilities for future bugs if there is a way to toggle them on or off... Or maybe there are literally no such tags and for the shop to be indestructible Rito either placed the hitbox under the clickable event or for the enemy team there is for once more an invisible wall of minions that guard the area and somehow the Renata buff bypasses that with Senna... Either way, the fact that this is even possible in the first place is ridiculous.
I can only guess that the shop in Summoner's Rift and Howling Abyss/ARAM are similar in code. Since you can only buy in ARAM at the start of the game or when dead/respawning, there's probably a hint of that in the SR shop. Perhaps the one in ARAM 'dies' from a timer setting their health to 0 instead of player input, but probably isn't script-proof to be invincible from players.
At this point I'm just at a loss of words. I'm so glad I quit this game recently and I think more people should do the same. Maybe that will show them to treat their game and it's players seriously.
Riot wont care, as long as whales keep throwing their money at Riot they will keep making the game worse to bleed them of more and more money. We lost our chance to make an impact as a community when we tried boycotting champions instead of the actual game when the mythic scams started
Because of this? Meh This is a very very niche exploit that can be done only with third side software, not even the worst one around, and it probably existed for years - just wasn't detected because of how niche and rare it is. There are way worse things in lol...
From what I remember, when the game was created, they had a brilliant idea to code everything as a minion. Anivia wall is made out of "minions", walls are "minions", jarvan ultimate is "a minion", Azir wall is "a minion" a so on. They are untargetable the same goes for the shop. So, if you have a script to destroy the shop, you can do the same for everything above. Structures have hidden high amounts of hp, and when Ornn charges Anivias wall to destroy it, it just deals a huge amount of true damage to it. If you have damage numbers in settings set on, it used to show the damage done to these structures. League is an old game relying on legacy spaghetti code, and it would simpler to write a new game from scratch than fixing the current one. This is the true reason why the league will never be truly fixed. It is not humanly possible.
I wonder whether that might have been out of necessity. The League engine is 15 years old after all and it was Riot's first game, so there likely wasn't a lot of budget around. The engine probably just doesn't allow for anything else and over the years they had to use minions everywhere as creative solutions for new abilities and stuff.

To be fair killing off the opponent's supply is a strategy
My reaction was the same as Starlord's when ego told him he killed his mom
Even in death, the shopkeeper still sells....
This is like DOTA where you can destroy the Well
My teammates wouldnt notice this happening as they are always dead anyways.
Waiting for Neeko to be able to disguise as the shop
Enabling Aram mode in real time is crazy work
+50 gold and the animations tells me that the shopkeeper is coded as a nexus (or inherits the nexus object).
Shop extends minion.
The script tool then just removes the extra stuff of the shop that prevents it from beeing targeted.
Riot just giving Vandril content at this point.
I fully expected them to just attack the enemy nexus and kill it, but killing the shop keeper is diabolical.
Next up: "Did you know that you can kill THE ANNOUNCER in league?"
They should turn it into a feature with a long resplendent timer. Like 10 minutes
RIOOOOTTTT SURELY YOU ARE CHOKING ???:
You know something is really hilariously bugged when Vandiril speaks. That's when you know the video is gonna show something really special.
Not really,he has been doing it for a while now
Last one was like 12 days ago, so it's mostly a rarity
@ except before we got it.. rarer than once a yesr
Cant wait to see for Vandiril buying special items from the nexus next time.
"I hope you're ready for ARAM!"
"This isn't Aram.."
"I said. 'I hope you're ready'."
This is stuff i would expect from a random warcraft 3 dota clone map with anime characters.
The bug situation has developed not necessarily to Riot’s advantage.
I noticed this at the end of one of my ranked games! Everyone else was dead so Briar targeted the shopkeeper!
why do i feel that this is some relic of implementing aram not being able to back and buy items
The fact shop has animation after destroyed it reminds me when people kill gatekeeper in lineage2
it seems like the Shop has, for some reason, the same properties as the Nexus. Both gives 50g and it even gets destroyed the same exact way
OMG, everything IS CODED AS A MINON!!!
Rito's response: I TOLD YOU THIS EXISTS, IT WILL NOT BE FIXED, DEAL WITH IT.
Damn, it would honestly be a cool mechanic to add.
They hotfixed it... now only demacia themed champs can kill the noxus themed shopkeeper as part of the trade wars
Meh
This is a very very niche exploit that can be done only with third side software, not even the worst one around, and it probably existed for years - just wasn't detected because of how niche and rare it is. There are way worse things in lol...
@Airin258 No. Not because of this. Because of everything.
Especially the recent changes.
“We cant beat them in the battlegrounds, so we’ll beat them on the markets”
The shop is coded as a minion
A "minion" is just a circle with a skin and a health bar. It's a normal way to programm, the real problem is that staff changes all the time.
