They weren’t his friends bc there’s no way in his condition he should have been left alone. They cared nothing about this young man. Sad to say but they should feel guilt for the rest of their lives. Didn’t even check on his condition prior to leaving the bar. I mean I know he’s old enough to drink but come one they’re saying he only had one drink so he may have just been disoriented if something was put in his drink.

He didn’t sound that wasted in the clip that they just showed, saying hi to the cop. He wasn’t so wasted that the cop found him to be “incapacitated”. His frat buddies should’ve left with him… but we don’t know if they were even present when he got kicked out. They were ALL partying… so who knows.
As I’m glad there is no signs of foul play against the poor guy, I just hope bar managers think to call an Uber for people they’re kicking out, and make sure that person gets IN the Uber. If a person is too “wasted” to remain in the bar, maybe they’re “too wasted” to be just put out alone.
At least if not for humane reasons, they should do that for legal reasons. That certainly would avoid any responsibility on the bar managers/owners.
The family is in my prayers. Unfortunately they’ll never know what their son was thinking by going to the river.

It doesn’t make them bad friends. It makes them typical college kids with under-developed brains. They don’t know better. That’s why colleges have started implementing regular education around preventing date r*pe, and staying together when going out to party. Then you add booze to the mix and they think even less logically. Who knows, he may have insisted on going alone as to not ruin everyone’s good time. It’s just a tragic accident and hopefully young adults will learn from it.

Need the drug screening. It bizarre his friends just left him, and the bar say only served him one drink. It seems someone drugged him.

I think the world followed this man’s plight for 14 days. His friends have to live with that. And I stress the word FRIENDS. It’s the same definition as Facebook friends. Not even words, mean anything anymore. They’re not really your friends. This was so sad. Every day I was hoping to find him.

The video said was overserved & there was no sign of foul play. He was very intoxicated in the vids. So sad. Maybe a bad mistake on his part. Maybe someone laced his drinks too. So so sad. People blaming friends. The whole drunk driving thing is a bad message. Getting drunk is the problem, not the car. This is beyond sad.

I think he tripped and hit his head because there was one video showing him kneeling on a median like he might have fallen and the next scene he was walking by a building holding his head. If he was too intoxicated maybe he didn't know he needed to seek medical intervention. :(

The owner of the bar should be held accountable. You don’t ever kick out a drunk person that can barely walk out of the bar so they can roam around on the streets, especially a female.

Gotta love comment sections. People judging complete strangers and pretending they know what happened. Any moron can point fingers and blame whatever their confirmation bias dictates.

So what? It’s what the comment section is for. You spout people judging people but here you are making judgment on people as well. Such hypocrisy.

    • @ZoeX87
      @ZoeX87 6 месяцев назад

@@MazingerZ3001 Seems I hit a nerve. Maybe you should ask yourself why? By your logic nobody is allowed to judge anyone for anything, which is beyond laughable. Nothing I said was hypocritical, and I have not judged YOU. It's you reading yourself into my comment and getting butthurt and defensive about it.

My friends carried my dumb, drunk ass all the way back to my hotel room from the bar we were at. I always thought it was a funny story to tell, now it's painfully obvious just how fortunate I was to have them. Wish we were still friends, this was over 20 years ago...

He didn't look drunk in that video. He was walking fine and briskly even responded clearly when the officer greeted him.
It was the 2nd and 3rd video scenes they have of him that make me think he tripped on a median and hit his head because in the 3rd video he was walking again but holding onto his head like he injured it.

It’s not illegal to be intoxicated and walking down the street minding your own business. You only get charged with that if you are making an ass out of yourself in public and disturbing others due to being drunk.

A lawsuit that’s going absolutely nowhere. Bars can’t micromanage every customer and he may have gotten wasted off of just 2 drinks. The term being over-served only means the person is obnoxiously drunk. Meanwhile everyone else is buzzed or drunk. It’s not necessarily the bars fault, unless of course he were under age, and he wasn’t.

  • @mightymystery9204

If a person seems to have been overserved, the bar must assume they dropped the ball, and ensure the person is provided a cab ride. It is a small price for peace of mind.
I also agree that if a group goes out, and one is told to leave, they all should go, or the designated sober guide should get the person home. I have been a designated sober guide. It really does save grief.

This is a truly heartbreaking situation but why is everyone blaming the friends? We're talking about 20-something year old frat guys who are in another town to let off some steam. How helpful would they really have been? Truthfully, we dont know. I'm all for safety in numbers and no man left behind but to BLAME the friends is taking it a little too far. None of us were there. Was it loud? Did they even hear, or less alone comprehend, that he was leaving? Maybe his friends were just as equally or closely impared and they didn't realize that he was leaving or had left? How about we put some light on the fact that he was overserved by an establishment? Why wasnt he cut off? Or if everyone's looking to point fingers, how about the officer that had that last interaction with him, that saw im stumbling down the street? Should he be blamed as well for not askig him if he was okay to get home? Come on now! There's quite a few instances here where if just ONE person made a different decision, it might not have ended like this, but we can't single out his friends. I feel deeply soru for bith his family AND his friends.
