Hi Phill, that is a good size window and being a table top glass that will be thoughened glass, a good build it will look good in your shed project. Good job catch you in the next part of the build Take care
Thank you. :) This is exactly what I was looking for. I had a piece of perspex and needed to make a window for the shed I'm making. Majority reclaimed materials.. Your instructions are clear and you aren't using fancy equipment that I don't have. Vikki :) :)
That glass was a good find Phill, building the shed bit by bit makes the job accessible to weekend woodworkers so a good method to record, also handy if like you it all has to be transported elsewhere before being assembled ! Door next ?
Hey, nice job, but aren't you afraid that the frame will swollen at some point and the glass will crack? I used to leave 3-4mm gap around the glass and fill it with silicone.
@@SzkolaCiesli what you saying makes sense but I don't think the frame swelling will have the strength to crack this glass. It's very hard thick glass not your average glass for a shed. Rite now it's still fine. So this is a bit of an experiment in a way. So far so good.
This may be silly question but will it be able to open? Will you please make a vid showing us how you make a track/add hinges etc if you do please? Very good video, def using your knowledge!
very great but wont it have a higher chance of getting a crack due to humidity change in the wood? Looks like you know ehat you do but I've never seen someone pressfit glass pane. Usually everyone leaves a 5mm gap

Cheers Steve 👍🏻
Superb, great to find scrap materials for free that end up being of higher quality than if you bought materials new.
I agree 👍🏻 I love it!
Looks great Phil
Cheers Gary 👍🏻
This is exactly what I am doing! I bought an antique oak table that came with a glass top and i plan to reuse the glass as a window in my shed.
@@DawaSupplyCo it makes for a nice strong window 👍🏻

Great job

Beautiful!!! I've been trying to find a way to make a window without having to make extra cuts into the wood for the glass! Brilliant!
Glad I could help!

Nice and simple . Bravo. No need for gluing compound ?
Thanks! It seems to have worked just fine.

@@MuffySSwiftpath hi, no this one doesn't open. I might do a future vid on making one that does open.
Just a quick question have you ever made a storage unit for screws and nails storage
Hi Larry, no I haven't although it's on my to-do list.

@@jordsfjords885 leaving a gap wouldn't hurt . The glass I'm using is very tough and thick. No cracks so far.
@@PhillWyattProjects Okay, then the gap is probably more neccessary for standard glass. Don't mind me, gret job!
Should have left some room for expansion
Yea a few people have said this although there hasn't been any issues so far fingers crossed.
Nice job.
Thanks!
