This scene is very comforting to me. Watching Colin falling in love and playing games with the boys has a magic to it that is hypnotic. The music and the writing is otherworldly
Can't i just find a place like this to live in ? No greed , no jealousy . Just peace . Being with someone free who makes you feel freedom, love, peace , away from this world's troubles , away from everyone's expectations . Sitting here writing this while the soundtrack from this video is playing in my head , thinking about the pure love shared in this scene and if it's still achievable in our era , if not then what's the point . Godamnit it's hard to see something so beautiful and realise you'll never have it
I had it with a French girl we could barely communicate, but we communicated on a deeper level because of it. She’s gone now and I watch this video often to remember “real, what I thought a dream” gets me every time
There is still natural beauty like this in the world and until you find your other no one can stop you from going there and being this freedom alone, and if your heart is pure who knows who might show up
All the children of the king were beautiful, but she the youngest,so exceedingly so. that the sun himself, though he saw her often. was surprised when she came out to his presence.
"real....what I thought a dream" with that Mozart and then trees reflected on water shot with small drips to show its a reflection.....one of the most perfect compositions of film making you'll ever see. the first 45 minutes of this movie are literally perfect.
I loved this movie also, but it seemed universally disliked by any review I have read. Then I come on RUclips and there are a reel of comments from various people who love it too. It feels like memories, feels!! That's quite a feat for a movie.
NO ONE can film the beauty and the human beings as Terrence Malick !! He's a genius...it's a pity he has a bad character in life , especially with the actors !!
"Real, what I thought a dream" if you've ever been in love in the distant past is there a more perfect quote to describe how you feel? As the memories only fade with the passing of time
I study the new world from its very beginning and you know what? This movie is the closest (from what it was) I ever saw! The spectators who argue this movie is just a strange dream are wrong: The other "westerns" ARE actually dreams as this one touch the reality as never before! And with the beauty of the images and story comes the two great common points with the real new world as it was: TIME & SILENCE! ... TIME & SILENCE ... Mostly inapprehensible by the overbooked modern man!
August Werner Schellenberg (July 25, 1936 - August 15, 2013) was a Canadian actor. He played Randolph in the first three installments of the Free Willy film series (1993-1997) as well as characters in Black Robe (1991), The New World (2005), and dozens of other films and television shows. He was in the 2007 American Western Historical Drama TV Movie called Buary my heart at wounded knee.

Watching the making of this...said he didn't even speak or understand french, he simply practiced the sounds... What a wonderful, brief, forbidden love they had ❤ She didn't seem crazy to her, and he didn't even care about what happened to her or what she came out of...now thats love ❤
I feel this was exactly what the natives were like before foreigners stepped into their lands. Sure there was bad blood between tribes and wars still occurred. But the lands were peaceful before foreign power came into play. You can argue that if foreign rule did not occur, native americans would not have had progressed nor catch up to modernize. There was some benefit for foreigners settling in native territory. They could have lived in peace together but unfortunately, greed, political interests and the probabablity of business profits to be made brought all sorts of foreign influence that eventually, it shaped the course of history of these lands to modernize. I dont like what happened to the natives. Its a tough past of american history and its a wide discussion as as a whole. But if it did not happen, what would the americas be?
It's not act it's true storie for Americans n all too no love of is never apart too see how love was native American lived different live. Then everyone there's differents of acting n not are actually different things from love. N for pocuhons the princes of love. Of god creation. Of heath of a baby named Taylor grown up as a man
I’ve read in real life she was 12 and married to Rolfe at 15 and died about 18 to 19. She was held as a captive and raped when she was 12 to 13. She lived a rough life. I do like this movie though. I believe they did well with their version. It’s still sad.
+Derek Gabrys You don't even need that stuff to have bad teeth. Not brushing for 20 years and you're going to look bad. I was being sarcastic in my original comment because I hate when historical films don't bother to hide white teeth.
Vikings used to have great teeth, simply because there was no sugar in their diet. These people live of very healthy food aswell! And I bet they cleaned their teeth aswell.
There are many natural alternatives to toothbrushes and paste. The Arabs used (and still use) the twigs of the Arak (salvadora persica) tree which form a natural toothbrush and work better than synthetic toothbrushes.
Our world was free before hate. Now is hate humiliation it was native.Dont how years being people white all native is still of n ative.Oir God Father knows pray yourselves of truth truth to come.
Watching this movie is like reading a poem. Just beautiful.
the most poetic scene of this wonderful movie....

What a such actor Colín is, he Is so expressive in his gestures.

Wonderful, Malick is a genious
I was looking for New Worlds and found this too. Both have Alex Meraz. Funny coincidence. Both are excellent.
It s the really right soundtrack. Great Malick!
Pure love, maybe for the first part of the film....
Amazing movie who i have watched several times through the years.
They were truly amazing looking people
The people were innocent and kind hearted and pure. They were no match for the deceitful, greedy, awful ways of the foe they were dealing with.
I love this movie

So nobody is going to talk about the fact that she's 15

yeah your ancestors married that young (the women). deal with it.
@@rses916 I have no idea why your saying deal it with. I just said it’s sad on what I read about her life. No reason to be hostile.

Parrots in Virginia lol
The Carolina parakeet are now extinct but they were absolutely in Virginia and all over the US.
Damn they've got white teeth for he 17th century. I didn't realize that toothpaste and mouthwash existed back then.
They didn't have coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew back then either.

It's just disturbing to think that this actress was like 14 or 15 when they filmed this 🤢🤢
Stop looking for ways to be disturbed and you’ll be happy and not miserable. Moral outrage is dumb.
It’s a movie. Know the difference between fiction and reality, little woke snowflake.
That girl and boy is the fakest love . . messed up the whole movie
