Talk about a blast from the past! Watched this series as a kid....black and white TV and all!
Interesting never heard of it. Don Taylor one of the pilots was Steve McQueens pal who played in Bullitt and other movies years later.
Funny... They show the arresting gear when the planes are catapulted.
bobl2112 those are hold back bridles
Well you can't be too safe! :D
It's the bar and bridle method. Not the hook.
@@marilyn3583 He was talking about the hydraulic rams and cables pictured below decks. Those are what the arresting cables are attached to that stop the planes on deck. The catapults are steam powered.
o k, yet what was the refueling issue?😁
I doubt the Blue Angels all went out all together as an active squadron.......(???)
Thunderbirds are far better
Hahahahahaha...yeah.....right.
NPN : Anyone can land and takeoff on a 12000 foot runway. Of course I am partial since I was a member of the Blue Angels in the mid 70’s. Both teams are good and put on a great show.
As we'd say in the AF... "No carrier landing ever killed a MiG."

Ya but Tomcats launched from those decks sure did... 😁😎👍
@@rodherrick9217 - Ha. The number of MiGs killed by F-14's, I think 6? The number killed by U.S. F-15's alone, 37 or so. No contest. ;-)
