God's plan for us in the storm - Part 5

I can't believe that we've arrived at the last message of our series in 2 Timothy, "God's plan for us in the storm." To date, Paul has told Timothy: “Be faithful - don’t shrink back!” (2 Timothy 1), “Be strong - don’t give up!” (2 Timothy 2:1-13), “Be godly - don’t give in!” (2 Timothy 2:14-26) and “Be ready - don’t be surprised!” (2 Timothy 3). This week he tells him, “Be confident - don’t be afraid/dismayed!” (2 Timothy 4). Despite finding himself in a dark, dank prison cell, that was the apostle's rallying cry, a cry he couldn't make because of others who had let him down in his time of need, or because of his own perseverance which had certainly been stretched, but because of the One whom he new would never let him down but consistently be with him, no matter what, "2 Timothy 4:17-18 (NKJV) - 17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!"
