Mech Suit Field Trials - Episode 1 - Giant Mech Crushes a Car

  • This was truly one of the most epic mech piloting experiences in the machine to date. Last December, we were invited by the wonderful folks at Allied Salvage, who are just around the corner from our Mountain Trials site in Squamish, BC, to come and help move some cars from the scrap pile to the crusher pile. We may have inadvertently provided a little head start to the crushing part of the process...
    It was a great opportunity to explore the capabilities of this machine, test the skill of the pilot, and have a ridiculously fun time doing so.
    Huge thanks to the Allied Salvage crew who came in to work on a Sunday to make this happen. They also have one of the best company mottos ever: Life is Scrap #lifeisscrap
    Send them a message of appreciation if you want to see us come back for round 2!

      If you like that Prosthesis is electric, check out the educational charity where the project got its start: www.eatart.org. Our pack is 36kWh and can supply up to 280kW for limited bursts. It powers twin AC drives, each capable of about 50kW, so you're looking at 100kW at the legs. Flat out you get 15-20min runtime, but the pilot would be exhausted sooner than that.

    they just need to learn how to name these things...prostethis is a part you add to a missing limb, not to a full-functioning human body and they didnt build this thing for handicapped people, although they could I guess.

    • @exosapientech
      @exosapientech  3 года назад

      The name has a 14-year origin story that dates back to before Furrion Exo-Bionics even existed, to when it was an art project symbolizing the amplification of our actions through technology and the responsibility that comes with that. "Prosthesis" was used in an abstract, metaphorical sense.
      The next mech will have a way more badass name. Got any suggestions?

      @@exosapientech name it whatever you like but think it through if you want it to make sense.
