- This summer, join Even and Dicey as they embark on an unforgettable journey to break the curse of Random.
Ruled by a wicked Queen, the kingdom of Random is divided into six shadowy realms where all life is dictated by a cursed black dice. In this gothic fairytale-inspired action adventure from the award-winning Swedish game studio Zoink, travel with Even, a penniless girl from One Town, as she attempts to rescue her sister, Odd, from the Queen’s evil decree.
With her companion Dicey, an ancient living dice, Even must learn to embrace the chaos of Random as she navigates dangerous battles, run-ins with questionable characters, and mysterious game arenas that shift with every dice throw.

Or, there is a better unexpected twist.
It's a cliche plot it's obvious when the second party gets kidnapped by the bad guys, the second party becomes a bad guy, tale as old as time, so hopefully a bigger twist happens.
But if not and the story is your typical new age EA garbage, hopefully the art style and gameplay hold up.
Well... I'm not sure I'm happy about the plot twist being spoiled in the trailer lol
When American McGee's "Alice: Madness Returns" meets Tim Schafer's "Grim Fandango" with a scent of Terry Pratchett's "Discworld Noir", ah the old times :)

@@DancingTeapot Stylistically and gameplay-wise no, but there are games that I enjoyed like Unravel, Fe, Tearaway (feel like this one was too short and easy), For The King and especially Concrete Genie. All of those have elements from Lost In Random.
@@Arhama Thanks for the suggestions. I've played Unravel and I loved it, looking to playing 2nd part of this game at some point with someone. Well, it doesn't really need to be the same stylistically and gamepla but more like wacky/odd world with fully voiced story.

This looks awesome. Legit. I remember when the original Psychonauts came out, it was one of a couple of western 3D Platformers that had that Henry Selick/Tim Burton stop-motion movie look to it, along with other games that are harder to remember now like Voodoo Vince, or.... The Kore Gang and Malice (and yes, I had to look two those up). It seems really fitting that Lost in Random and Psychonauts 2 are coming up at the same time then, and bringing back this kind of style. If Laika made video games in addition to movies, it would have to try pretty hard to look as good as this :D
Fwoly huck, it's super rare to see anyone nowadays mention Malice and the Kore Gang, even if they only know of them from having looked them up. I hadn't considered a mix of elements from those two games being present in Lost in Random, but I can definitely see it.
For the first I really want to to Pre-order this game, I'm so excited.

Trailer shows too much but game looks awesome! EA Originals shows that EA actually puts soul and life in some of their games.

Nice detail that Odd had three buttons on her coat, and Even two. But still, the dice's name was Dicey? Really?? Should've been named Chance. That's a no-brainer.

Hm, I kind of have to assume it's using "dice" as a singular noun (rather than the proper "die") so as to avoid having to actually explain the difference between "dice" and "die" because too many people don't know that "dice" is plural. (I mean, apparently Ryan North is writing some of the script, and there's no way that guy doesn't know what "dice" actually means...)

lmao i watched this assuming it would be like little nightmares but i didnt expect this. Well i mean it IS from EA, they make questionable story choices but i guess i can't really say anything until i see the actual game myself.

This game looks amazing but one thing is bothering me. "Dice" is the plural term. If you have one, it is called a "die".
Actually, though archaic in America dice can be singular and is in fact the preferred singular in Europe.

That trailer should have ended a little earlier...
It should be "One True Die" - "dice" is plural. Now you either gotta go back and ADR all the times a single die was referred to as "dice" or trim the audio to catch the first half of the word before the hiss sound of "dice" is pronounced in all your vocal tracks. If not, you're gonna hear people repeat this die/dice distinction to you ad nauseum.
