Beautiful documentary! Sir David Attenburough is a pleasure as always. Hopefully the teams will eventually capture footage of the colossal squid in the antarctic.
I love David attenburough, I'm 62 years old. He was around in the late 60s when I was 6 or 7 watching national geographic on TV. Before colored television.
Just as I love isolated scenic places in the world versus busy crowded cities, I love learning about the deep seas that are so rarely explored. I hope these different research vessels can explore more of the deep sea before it completely changes. I Love when Sir David Attenborough narrates videos.
The hunt for the giant squid is truly thrilling and captivating! The stunning visuals and the exploration of the deep ocean’s mysteries make this video an absolute must-watch
"These are the voyages of The Alucia. Her 5 year mission, to explore strange continents, to seek out new life and lifeforms, to boldly go where no one has ever gone before" 😏 That moment when you realize that our world still holds as much mysteries as the space out there 😮
Just imagine the other large beings in our oceans we haven't yet discovered.... It always amazes me that scientists are shocked when they find so much life in places like this.... Its because you aren't believers. Open your mind to possibilities that are beyond your comprehension and youll be amazed at what you encounter throughout this life. Your hubris many times is your biggest obstacle.
Getting in a little submarine with whales would be fascinating and terrifying at the same time. I wanna go! Getting to see all the critters on the bottom would be awesome.
@14:50 -@15:06 Colder water is more oxygenated than warmer water...this happened during the Carboniferous period, when animals were much bigger due to increased oxygen levels which allowed them to grow much bigger. @24:38 Okay, so they basically answer this statement/question later. But they previously made it seem like it was unknown to scientists...which is strange.
Mammals do the same thing size wise. Whitetail deer up in Canada are much much bigger than deer down in Texas. The colder the weather the bigger they get
Just like when the earth had a higher Oxygen content in its atmosphere allowing for very large insects so does the higher oxygen content of the cold water of Antarctica
should leave the ocean floor alone for squids and octopi to evolve and control instead of trying to trash the entire earth from sea to shining with plastics and oil spills sea
No but seriously, do you really think humans are going to waste time and money trying to catch a giant squid? Do you understand what the fishing industry is? Please do not answer these two questions.🎉
The choice of music is wrong for this documentary. I watched the entire thing silent and it fit the ocean depth much better. I can see more of very light mood, plucked instrument and percussions music instead not this massive dramatic strings orchestra music.
Nat. Geo. pushing everything dying & seeing invertebrates etc... was amazing , but pretty much skipped cuz that's not the narrative they push. If it was dying they'd show it big time to blame us...

Amazing and creative God of wonders.
Thank you Lord
GOD BLESS THE Servants of the Lord
They have it came up next to a ship and someone lucky to video it.
I’m from New England 50 winters here I hate the cold but what I’d give to visit Antarctica!! Please respect this majestic place and it’s critters
It's incredible to witness the vivid footage of the Kondakovia longimana squid in its natural habitat!

This was like diving into a whole new world. The detailed exploration of polar gigantism and the colossal squid was both thrilling and educational.

A Colossal Squid as by-catch is insanity.
I'm all for studying these beautiful creatures so we can preserve them.

A beautiful and informative documentary. The cheerful background music makes it seem like I'm watching a Studio Ghibli animated film.

Dumbo Octopus ❤️❤️❤️
When i was a child these were still considered a myth. Now imagine all the myths that still exist that havent been discovered
Thanks!
Truly amazing how such a tiny animal like the krill would be the keystone to support an entire ecosystem.
What an extraordinary journey into the icy depths of the Antarctic Ocean!

Beautiful
Excelent video congratulation 👏👏👏
Beautiful...
Should've used that machine to go view the titanic 😂
Wow!
21:05 Those strings look like eggs to me, just like from frogs/toads.
18:00.. the two guys in the footage were arguing about its weight, one said 50kg and the other jokingly said that it was about 2000kg
Does this mean that when the ice has melted, will the whole food chain collapse ?.
Gerard.
Very likely. Without the krill, which feed on the algae in the ice, the food chain could very well collapse.
@grghkllb3875 That would mean the whole ecosystem and all wildlife will vanish. That would be a great loss to our present day.
Sir Attenburough your voice always cocomforted me, love you!
At least he's not talking like he's talking to child like croc hunter did.
Mammals do the same thing size wise.
Whitetail deer up in Canada are much much bigger than deer down in Texas. The colder the weather the bigger they get
Thats a colossal squid
Imagine the calamari we could make...
If humans let them thrive !!!!
Just like when the earth had a higher Oxygen content in its atmosphere allowing for very large insects so does the higher oxygen content of the cold water of Antarctica
Can I translate your RUclips channel videos into Persian and publish them on my RUclips channel?
large pizza a foot across? what
Wait why was the thumbnail a colossal squid instead of a giant squid?
A japanese biologist caught the GIANT ARCHITEUTIS SQUID ON FILM
should leave the ocean floor alone for squids and octopi to evolve and control instead of trying to trash the entire earth from sea to shining with plastics and oil spills sea
Is a ship like that nuclear powered like a submarine? How does it have enough gasoline/diesel capacity otherwise to run there and back?
Mmmmmm calamari delicious.
Please leave the giant squid in the water and do not kill them!! ❤🎉
Please harvest and serve them at my local sushi restaurant they look delicious!
Don't let the kids comments get to you
@@azukarzuchastux8066 That is about the Last thing I need

Interesting, though I always just check out and change ideas when they start to drone on about climate change

Your mom saw footage of my colossal squid
This video is pretty old (2019). The latest study shows the Arctic ice has increased by 23% in the last decade.
Not at all what they wanted, but it's something anyhow... 😒
Sorry folks but warmer is natural. So is colder.
Pronouns are science and facts
wow!!
