Look into there spin cycle lay up animations for example Giannis layup spin is broken pretty much starts right inside the 3 point line
Sabonis for bigs has a crazy flater animation. I use it to still be able to space the floor on my inside big as you can trigger it from damn near the 3pt line

Just for my context. Every layup that is done with the button can be done with shot stick. It's actually easier on the mind to react instead of switching from button to stick all the time. The only thing the button does is it's more consistent. But I've found that if you practice it enough times. The stick is the way to go. If your rotating the stick to change shot. Then just rotate the stick for spin layups. If you want to do the hop step just use the stick. It's the same input. This is just me. But I feel like the shot stick just has different animations for each situation. That's just my theory.
I feel you gang.. but you and I, are diametrically opposed on this one. It's crazy, that 2k Labs barely mentioned.. how you can trigger all these animations. With the combination of left stick + square. And in my honest opinion.. the left stick + square triggering. Feels better (pause lol). And way more natural, than the use of the right analog. I always felt the analogs were designed for movement.. but will always be obsolete to the button, as it pertains to shooting. I mean sheesh.. how many different ways I gotta move the analog to do a euro? When I cam just double tap square, and get the same effect. But that's just my two cents. Everything is relative.

Feel there’s some untapped content here with layups, I notice some animations get more bull dozer activation than others for example. Also some are better against multiple defenders and others are better for avoiding contact all together.
To me kobe is the best when I run pro am because I can consistently drive through a zone and finish unblocked between two and sometimes 3 defenders.
That said 2k deserves props for improving layups from unusable garbage to a really powerful tool for slashers. Hopefully they continue this momentum and add more depth to the packages, maybe having some require strength to unlock and then those animations can be more likely to get bull dozer along with other creative benefits/disadvantages
Oh there is a bunch of things people realize they can do in this game. It's kind of crazy. Especially with the shot stick. So many little things. I've basically stopped using the button this cycle. They is no way you can get me to go back to the button.

@ojackson370z his step back is something else. I make people literally fall down when I hit it at times. You almost always get them to at least stumble a little. Kemba's is similar to it too. He does 2 small little quick hops at the end that tends to get a little more space. Both are real nice to put in some combos. You have shooting take its a guarantee ankle breaker.

On the build im thinking of making (sg) i have a 94 driving dunk, whats more worth it 85 layup or 89 pass acc. if i go 89 pass acc i only get a 75 lay.

The small default is fire 🔥 was using gervin on my 74 layup for ever and switched to small and it’s honestly 100 times better

Giannis Layup package is GOATED for a 6'10 and up
No one ever talks about cradle layups. If you have high strength/bulldozer the cradle intentionally pushes the defender then release it after the defender is pushed away. I know you can get it just pushing right stick into the defender but that doesn’t work as well against good defenders. But with the cradle even if they jump, there’s a delay to when you actually release the ball after the push and you create distance so it’s harder to time blocks. Not to mention, you get A LOT of shooting fouls called because of how your player initiates contact
How do u initiate a cradle lay?
@@LeLayup like a euro but flick the right stick the opposite way and into the defender first. If I’m driving and the defender is on my left hip I’d flick the stick left right then release in the green window. Works best if you’ve got bulldozer but even without bulldozer you get good animations if you’re using the right layup package. I use devin booker since it’s good for all types of layups, when I tried with lebron it didn’t work as well
@@LeLayup it’s a cheat code for easy free throws against AI btw. If you have bulldozer, it’s either gonna give you a wide open lay or a shooting foul. When I’ve played career I’ve had games with 20+ free throws. If the defender is too good for me to get an open shot I just get them in foul trouble. And if the they’re not good defenders it’s a bulldozer animation. Same applies with real players too, even lockdowns get fouls called in pro am
It’s useless if you playing 3s or 5s
@@KingMalik_ I only play pro am and rec. can’t speak on it working on 3s, but 5v5 why wouldn’t it work😂 I do it all the time it’s just a layup. Driving to the paint and there’s weak side help coming, you push your defender out the way and release the ball on the far right if the help is coming from the left. On a fast break 1v1 and the defender is in good position, initiate contact for a free throw or open layup. This game is really fun when you use all the animations/mechanics
I use D-Book on my 6'9 with 97 Lay
I changed it to harden layup in current gen but it doesn't perform harden layup

Let em know gang. The analog is obsolete, when it comes to triggering shooting/layup animations, to square. Left stick + square. Can create any animation you desire. The analogs were meant for moving. Not shooting, lol.
@@araynova A combo of both is best. Analog is better for step back jumpers because you can cancel out of it + you can trigger better animations. The button does feel way more natural tho, u right about that

@@mikeesteves8427 lukas isn't explosive asf like brons or jordan is mostly meant to get a good angle on your defender and shield the ball with your body

@@mikeesteves8427 I know what you mean, his normal layups don't get up that high, finger rolls not getting up to the rim. So it's not hard to chase down if the defender has good timing

I’ve tried all of these… but still found my way back to D. Fox’s layup package. It’s just too explosive! Haven’t been blocked by a big yet with it equipped.
I feel like they nerfed his layup package. I used to get like 25 a game with his package. Now i get blocked n like crazy. I might have to reuse again idk. But ive been using booker on all my builds

I have a 91 as well... but I rarely get his good animations anymore. It's always the slower ones. 2k probably saw me cooking and got jealous.

Zion Williamson has the best spin layup animations. If you have high dunk but low layup (70-77), try that package if you enjoy spin dunks or layups

@@bonystickmanking1250say ball in your right hand flick right analog stick to the right then left and u should get a step through/ gather layup or a contact layup depending on if a defender on your hip. Same thing if the ball in your left hand flick to ball hand first then opposite hand
