Absolutely fabulous information 👌👌👌👌thanks a lot I have heard that its 2fingers gap We generally perform bharatanatyam with ghungroos (salangai) which has breadth of 1finger. When we sit in araimandi after wearing salangai the 2 ghungroos of each leg will struck with on other. Due to this we give 2 or 3 finger gap between 2 foot during araimandi. This was my learning. Correct me if I am wrong 🙂
Nice Nice. We are learning more terms of the Abhinaya Natya Shasthra. Mandala, Sthanaka, Hasthakshetra, Saushtava. How can I as an Engineer miss the Physics...Straight Lines, Triangles and Squares ! Any object with a wide base with lower center of gravity ensures better stability 😁. Balance is the ability to control your body "without" movement against gravity whereas Stability is the same thing but "during" the movement. He he he... Remembered sitting in the Physics class after 40 years. 😇
I haven't planned one yet. One batch is already going on. Stay tuned for updates. I will be posting the details on my story and community tab on youtube and also on my other social media handles (instagram and facebook)

Can you please make one video on Natyotpatti katha according to abhinaya darpan with shlokas? Plz rply as soon as possible I'm waiting for your reply....
You are welcome! I don't think it is something I can teach through one video :) Abhinaya is a very vast subject in itself which is to be studied/learnt under the guidance of a Guru and improvised through experience :)
Thank you for yet another very very helpful and informative video. Will surely follow. :-) Please do make an eating routine for dancers before a performance.
Ma'am it was so helpful and very lucidly explained.. I have one question i am also a classical dancer and i would like to read about it in detail . According to your knowledge can you please suggest me some books related to bharatnatyam or classical dances. I am looking forward for your support ☺️
For very basic theory about Bharatanatyam and classical dances, you could go through Texts prescribed by KSEEB. The name of the books should be available on their website. The books I initially read were for Junior, Senior and Vidwath Exams conducted by Karnataka State Board(These were in Kannada. There must be translations too. Check it out) For in-depth knowledge, start with Natyasastra or Abhinaya Darpana :) There are a lot of other books which you can refer and should be able to find the information online.
Thank u for such interesting information. It helps in broadening our perspective about dance and also helps in knowing and understanding the purpose behind everything we do while dancing. Thank you so much for making such videos. It personally makes me feel very motivated and happy to be learning this beautiful art form 😊😊
Thank you for watching, Gauri! I have always been intrigued by these things.. Trying to share whatever little I know :) Makes me happy you all are benefitting from it!
How meaningful samskruth words are ! Angashuddi - shuddi of your body, that gives a foundation to everything. How each and everything has a scientific reason behind it, very informative Bhabhi ! No wonder why our PE teachers ask us to focus on what we are doing! ;) You are doing amazing work vanhi ! Congratulations on 13K ... More to go ! :)
Indeed! These traditions and aesthetics we follow, fascinate me! The knowledge gets lost while being transferred from one generation to other. The meaning is lost leaving us with a mere ritual. Thanks Deeksha :) PS : I realised only after you told! Yayyy :)
