Adding another super dirt cheap meal to my playlist this week! I've had a lot of questions I've noticed recently on meal ideas using lentils so hopefully this helps! I also linked another video sharing MORE lentil recipes so make sure to check it out!
Lentils are probably my favorite legume (but it depends on what day you ask lol). Just love a good lentil stew like this. I've been watching a bread baker on RUclips lately - Artisan bread with Steve. He uses 2 bread pans like you do, and fastens the ends with 2 basic old binder clips. He calls it a PMDO: poor man's Dutch oven! I tried it and it works. Genius!
Looks delish! I think you meant mirepoix - mix of chopped veggies. Mise en place is just set up. So getting all your ingredients out, measured and prepped.
Dutch ovens are definitely a must. I found a cast iron one at a goodwill years ago. When I divorced my husband, I kept the Dutch oven. Lentil stew is definitely one of the things that get made frequently in it besides chili.
I am a 25 year bread baker and I’m thrilled to see your generation embracing it!
Thank you for sharing these tasty, awesome, affordable, simple, healthy vegan/vegetarian meals😋
lentil soup and bread-comfort food at its finest
Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I am here because someone had mentioned you from Meals with Maria. I am enjoying looking back over your content and getting inspiration. Love the vegan options that are money savers!🌱
Almost same recipe I use. I add 1/4 cup avocado oilI put it in my kitchen aid mixer and mix 7 mins. Let rise a hr. Punch down and then rise 30 mins. I love homemade bread.
This looks incredible
Thank you for the lentil meal ideas! You should do a series on dry pantry ingredients like lentils and different kinds of beans that are dry. Thank you so much! 😊
I have a lot of those recipe style videos already here on my channel :) I usually put one up every few months!
Oh my! Your lentil soup is on my next meal prep for sure!!! Gracias
I found a big brick of yeast at Winco. I think I have enough for a year! It’s supposed to last in the fridge. Thank you for teaching me how to make bread🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
Looks delicious! I need to get a blender and try puréeing the way you did. I do a sort of stew with green lentils, cauliflower, garlic and veggie broth. It's a bit of a base and then you can add other things if you want. I've been thinking about weather I could do something with tomato. Will absolutely try you recipe =)
I made this stew - and enjoyed it w baked Japanese sweet potato halves instead of bread because I was being lazy haha
So yummy, thank you!! 😊
from the mrs: super fab recipes! great idea on pureeing the veggies and adding back into soup. Looking forward to more dirt cheap meals!
I saw someone use a binder clip to keep their pans from sliding apart.
Looks great! Always looking for plant based recipes as I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the BLV, igf-1 and pesticides in meat. Thanks so much for sharing
Great dinner Miranda! I love using lentils in cooking and I will be making this for lunches this week :) hugs from WA State!
The stew and bread look delicious and hearty Miranda 🍜 🥖 Thank you for sharing 😀
Looks delicious! I know what I'm making this weekend! :)
Hi love the simplicity of this recipe ,,I hope I am not blind but I am not seeing the link for the Dutch oven you used in this video ?? Thank you for your time 😊
It says in the description that it's sold out.
not seeing the dutch oven link listed
It says that it's out of stock.
The soup looks good! It wouldn’t be your soup recipe if the pot wasn’t filled to the max 😂
My mother in law does that too. 😅
right!???!
Pregnancy did give me a reprieve from my gluten intolerance
Its actually very crazy but I'm so thankful especially in the beginning when I was so sick!
