That was the single coolest fan boss I’ve ever seen for this game. The implementation of the meta elements like the fake crash and the intro trigger were very well-made, and I love how he clearly referenced elements from Flowey/Asriel’s fights like with the save file usage, the goner attack, and the “You truly are an idiot”. Not to mention took the clear use of the different souls in the theme of the fight
So I'm gonna try and understand the situation here: Cao Tihn, first and foremost, is apparently a mistreated fox from the Light World that was abandoned at this chapter's location and got sucked into the Dark World when it oppened there. With how much the dude mentions he's hungry AF we can assume that he was starving by the time he entered the Dark World considering the fact that Sussie doesn't seem to get any less hungry despite how much she eats in the Dark World so Cao Tihn is in a constant state of hunger that cannot be satiated (however, we could also assume Sussie doesn't get satiated by the stuff she eats while in the Dark World because the stuff she tends to eat... is exactly food so that's a maybe). Cao Tihn, with his insatiable hunger, starts to eat every darkner in his path which leads him to eat this Dark World's secret boss along side their dark crystal which apparently gave him inteligence, more power, some premonition and whatnot. This leads him to want to go further beyond and gain more power to ascend and eat more to then gain power and from there eat more, add infinitum. Judging by the part where he eats the stinkin' secret boss I assume that Cao Tihn wouldn't be encountered under normal circumstances in a normal playthrough and that some prior requirement must be met in order for him to appear and derail the whole Dark World. Maybe it's doing Weird Routes, maybe it's replaying the game on the same save file. Whatever's the case, Cao Tihn steals half of Kris' soul when trying to consume it to achieve ascension and only gains partial super duper power. The Fun Gang track Cao Tihn and leads to the start of this video where Cao Tihn engages the Fun Gang to devour the other half of Kris' soul to achieve full ascension and devour evreything. Judging from the dialogue and the stuff that happens during the fight, Sussie might become sus of what is going on considering the multiple remarks Cao Tihn makes might push Sussie to start asking questions (specially with how Sussie interacts with him during the fight) and normaly Cao Tihn would've won so Gaster just gives him the middle finger and starts granting Kris' half soul the multiple soul powers the same way with the start of Spamton Neo so that the Ultimate Attack becomes survivable as Cao Tihn tries everything to one up Gaster and fails. And, following up on the whole "Sussie probably becoming more aware that something is being kept secret from her." assumption of mine and that this is probably this chapter's Weird Route or secret story deviation, I suspect this route would most probably lead to an entire alternate main storyline most likely jumpstarted by Sussie making a decision that she wouldn't make on a normal playthrough that would derail the main storyline the same way Cao Tihn most likely derailed the intended story of this take on Chapter 5's Dark World. All of this is just simple speculation based on this piece of well-crafted fanfiction that I am down for. If any part of this mad rambling has misenterpreted any of the lore of _Undertale: Unimagined_ please do correct me.

Just perfect. The spritework, the attack patterns,the concept of breaking the buttons,the souls Z powers,the dialogues,the final attack WAS: THE ABSOLUTE.
This is scarily well done, despite being a fcking animation, bro somehow made ALL UI stuff the exact same as the actual game, could perfectly be faked as an actual gameplay, so good
What a magnificent animation zet. Love the symbolism and parallels between hunger and the player’s own thirst for more. The final attack with the 3D perspective is great. This animation definitely surpasses all others on this channel thus far, I hope you’re proud of your work !
That final cutscene 😭 A starving creature getting a taste of power and going too far with it... only to slowly return to what it was as the hunger comes back and finishes the job
The Deltarune community will always fail to disappoint, this was an absolute masterpiece of an animation, you and the team worked hard and it really shows! That final attack will be burned into my memory for years now, great job! The creativity of this project is amazing to me!
Ay, so Cao Tinh _was_ inspired by Okami! Had been trying not to spoil myself by reading the new Community posts, but I had a feeling after I saw his boss form; great game to take inspiration from :) But god damn, just look at how far this fox has come. From a little boss concept to the most literal version of *CONSUME PRODUCT AND GET EXCITED FOR: NEXT PRODUCT.* The perfect adversary not for one of the Lancer Fanclub, but for _us._ Seems that I officially have _two_ amazing AUs to look forward to from this channel--bravo to everyone whose work made this incredible battle possible ^_^
Jokes on Cao Tinh, Save editors exist, they even override the powers of a god with the power equal to 7 human souls! Jokes aside, I like the reference to Asriel's Hyper Goner.
it's like it only plays because cao tinh replaced the secret boss, but because he isn't it struggles to keep up with his immense power as a lightner with half a human soul. the song knows he's an impostor. he was the closest one to become free
Having my options literally gouged out from under me makes me irrationally FURIOUS, and I was deadass ready to throw hands with the boss myself. Yes, despite not being the one "playing". I know this was an animation and not actual gameplay, but frankly, if it was... You showed a lot more restraint than I would've. This probably would've been the first time I'd have went straight for the Kill option.
I'm pretty sure the area the gang walks out of at the start of this video is related to the original secret boss before Cao Tinh appeared. ZET said the original secret boss was a cat and the head at the top of that house looks kinda like Mew Mew who is a cat. Also ZET please upload a standalone video for the song “Abstinence” it might just be some of your best work, and I want to listen to it without Cao Tinh talking over it.
Oh yeah forgot to mention but since his final form looks like something out of an anime and he says “GAZE UPON: THE NEO ABSOLUTE!” like some kind of anime move, it’s now my weird little headcanon that Cao Tinh stumbled across some anime at some point and eventually became a secret fan of anime
With him being at the mall, I find that to be plausible as all ever living hell as He might have caught a few seconds of it on a Tv in a break room or something, of course before all of the dubious dark world soul devouring came along.
I still hold my grievances to the character of Cao Tinh, but like I said before the spritework was amazing, and that holds up here. So I have to compliment it. I especially have to applaud the unique usage of the shattering darkner souls. They're used rather well, with that attack where you dance through the rings of fire as the souls shatter being particularly nice.

if i could be honest i'd probably share what in this video further made me dislike the cat. but whatevs. opinions are opinions and i don't feel like making fights on the internet. my complaints on the character don't really matter. spritework and animation is still very well put together.
There's so many little details that are easy to miss, like the attacks being darkners soul's, or kris intercepting cao tinh destroying the fight button, I love it, it's definitely one of the most unique and cool concepts on a secret boss I've seen in a bit
cao tinh is tragic to me. he was a starving animal that tried to satiate himself in a magical world, and him being a lightner meant that he could devour innocent darkners because he didn't know any better at first. but since it's a dark world, his hunger would never end. and then the worst thing happens, he eats the most powerful darkner in that dark world, the chapter 5 secret boss, and gains intelligence. all of that hunger becomes bloodlust and an obsession for power. he mirrors flowey in a way. flowey was an innocent child who tried to fulfill his sibling's final wish and was brutalized and killed, being reborn as a soulless flower with control over the timeline. cao tinh was just a pet fox, neglected and abandoned. the abuse he suffered caused him to become an evil demigod who's only goal is to consume until all is none.
Now I wonder Will the future animation for Occazio and the Weird Route battle for Helel reach this peak? Nah what am I saying, of course it's gonna be peak

Helel has two fights in her secret boss quest as well: The one shown in the Helel Battle Video, and a second one at the end of her quest where she becomes giant.

Something I've notice about Cao Tinh's name is how it's pronounced. The First part of his name literally is pronounced as "Chow" as far as I know and Chow literally means food. Second of all Tinh, specifically the way it's prounounciation sounds with it coming after Cao, being that of well for the most part "tin" Blend the 2 words together and It sounds like someone saying shouting with one hell of an accent. Alough it's probably just supposed to be fox says or nine tailed fox, It still does come out a bit odd to me, especially with fox says being one of the meanings of it. Almost as if it could mean He's shouting at fate itself, denying it full force but I'm probably over looking it at this rate.

The sprites are incredibly well made, the concept is actually cool and unique, it even goes an omega flowey and crashes the game(?) The attacks are sick to look at too, with the soul changing types, and even a fucking HYPERGONER final attack?? This is very cool and awesome 10/10 🔥 Edit: Cao Thin might just be my favorite fan boss at this point.

It is Vietnamese! Cao Tinh (or Cáo Tinh, written with proper strokes and everything) means fox spirit, and it’s a Sino-Vietnamese word, so it can be written with Hanzi as well!
How'd bro get Chapter 5 leaks? Genuinely, this is insane. Only question is what happened to the cyan and purple souls? Like just curious because there was red, orange, yellow, green and blue. Still not complaining since I totally get if it was just too difficult or didn't make sense
since I'm assuming this is chapter five I'm guessing that those are the soulmodes for six and seven in this take and it wouldn't make sense to reveal them at this point of the story because it would ruin the suprise

It was a very nice animation! I felt that every detail was elaborate.

But seriously, this animation looks so damn awesome! The sprites are incredibly well made, the concept is actually cool and unique, it even goes an omega flowey and crashes the game(?) The attacks are sick to look at too, with the soul changing types, and even a fucking HYPERGONER final attack?? This is very cool and awesome 10/10 🔥
Edit: Cao Thin might just be my favorite fan boss at this point.

It is Vietnamese! Cao Tinh (or Cáo Tinh, written with proper strokes and everything) means fox spirit, and it’s a Sino-Vietnamese word, so it can be written with Hanzi as well!

Genuinely, this is insane. Only question is what happened to the cyan and purple souls? Like just curious because there was red, orange, yellow, green and blue. Still not complaining since I totally get if it was just too difficult or didn't make sense
cao tinh only uses the souls of the previous secret bosses, which, in unimagined, are Blue, Orange, Green and Yellow, in that order
since I'm assuming this is chapter five I'm guessing that those are the soulmodes for six and seven in this take and it wouldn't make sense to reveal them at this point of the story because it would ruin the suprise
