    Can't wait to see the Knitleader! I inherited a knitting machine bundle that included this device and so far I have not run out of other things to explore before I got to that item! But I am a sewer - so the leader sounds like a fantastic toy!

    Knit leaders are great when converting sewing patterns to knitting patterns. It takes 90% of the math out of it

      I don't have one but I make myself a grid of my gauge swatch and then just draw the pattern on it. It takes a lot of cutting and pasting paper together, but with this "gridified" pattern I can always see where I am in the knitting process.

      @@ClaudiaArnoldit's basically the same thing, just it does the counting for you. So, basically it let's you be lazy. .

      I also sew. So I have been known to mark the seam allowance on my patterns that I know fit me, then tape them to the Mylar sheet of the knit-leader so I can also knit them. The knit leader saves a LOT of time.

    What a great haul! I love the knitleader for intarsia too, you just draw your picture on there at full scale and it figures out the stitches.

    By the way, Knitleaders are the best, especially if you want to do complex intarsia. Make certain to take good care of your mylar sheets!

    Fyi for the knitleader I have found the vis-a-vis wet erase markers are the best thing to use on the mylar sheet along with a microfiber cloth or the scotts shop towels for cleaning it up. I got a pack of i think like 6 or 8 colors from my local walmart for under 10 bucks.
    I would not try to use dry erase markers i have heard nothing positive about the results

    Holy smokes - an amazing haul!! I'm keeping my eyes out for a color changer and a KR850 to replace my KR830. Maybe I'll get in touch with the guild and see what they have floating around. *Very* excited to hear about an AYAB workshop and mystery event! I'm going to order a shield for my 965i today.

    You will enjoy your knit leader, very much. The last sweater I made I hooked mine up to the LK150, yes it works as Anna Haferman demonstrated very well on her RUclips channel. I love your enthusiasm and you have a lot of fun and I always look forward to new videos from you.

    Ahh how fun! It'll be interesting to see you learn how to read the mylar sheets and see how all the electronics work.

    A video on how the patterning things work sounds super interesting. I've been reading the service manual for my Singer 321 and the way it does it all mechanically is amazing

    Glad you got this, I have a 950i which I hardly use as it has confused me for at least 20 years!

    Girl, you scored! Congratulations. I live near Santa Rosa, not too far away. I will have to reach out to the Bay Area knitters guild. Can't wait to see your videos on these new items

    OMG you are getting like so many of us...I have a ton of machines, ribbers, G carriages a motor I want to sell as I haven already in action. I tried to pick up the AYAB shield but they say not available, (you know how I can order one?);😁 a shame as I have an unused 910 I can hook it up on. If you need help (I doubt it) with this one let me know!

    Hi,
    I’m currently making the back panel of your Abstract Knit Factory Raglan Sweater. I was wondering what it means by “Work the other back shoulder the same way but mirrored.” I’ve included a photo. Thank you very much, I love your RUclips videos, especially the QR code dress! Excited to see what you do with your new machine!

    950i which I assume this is? (Has the 8 pin port under the Brother cover at the left) It’s a great machine, it was a higher end version with more capabilities than the 940. Same memory storage as the 940 and could connect to the PPD and disc drive and today, DAK or other software like Img2Track. It was replaced by the 965 and later 965i, in the 90s.

      The box shows it only as 950e (not the i version)

    • @Thesweaterfactory
      @Thesweaterfactory 2 месяца назад

      @@LesliHilton That’s true but there were lots of “e” versions, which meant “exclusive” sold in the USA. There was a 930e and 940e as well as a 260e, I am just unsure whether it is a special edition version of the 950 or 950i.

    • @JimiLux
      @JimiLux 2 месяца назад

      @@Thesweaterfactory From my memory, the "e" generally meant "Eleganza" in the US. It was merely a different trim color (generally greenish-blue) and a promotional opportunity for dealers to bundle matching “Eleganza” accessories with the purchase of a machine. This is a 950 with "Eleganza" trim, not a 950i. Great machine!

    There is a " 3 hr sweater" trend that by hand is not very realistic to make maybe by machine it is... leaving this idea here 😅
